This will be a rather short review because (1) I'm squeezing this in right before my drum lessons and (2) I was scared to even try it on my lips.
I have repeatedly shared my fondness in auctions. And one of the auction pages I found on Facebook was Weekend Auction. If you know how to spot a great deal, you would really love that page. But if not... let's just say you'll be really confused because they have authentic and Singapore-made products.
Anyway, Emaree, the owner of Weekend Auction, gave me an Excel Paris Matte Lip Cream in 508 to try (not necessarily to make a review on). And try it, I did.
It came in a uniquely sexy tube and an applicator like that of a lip gloss. What alarms me is the price. It is being sold for Php 85. Yes, that cheap. My initial thought was, nothing good can come with that price tag. But for review purposes, I swatched it.
Surprisingly, I loved the hot pink color. It glides easily and the color is very opaque and vibrant. I thought I finally found a cheap but usable product. But after a minute or two, it dries up. The texture was like an acrylic paint that dried up on a canvass!
I tried removing it with tissue papers, water and even alcohol.. but it won't come off! I had to use a bathing scrub just to remove it. I was sacred it won't come off when I use it on my lips so I didn't dare try it. Plus, with that price tag, it makes me wonder what ingredients are used. :/
Buy Again? No. There's a reason why we spend hundreds of Pesos on lipsticks. And that is to make sure that the ingredients used to produce them are safe. Even when it comes to makeups, safety first, ladies!
My Verdict: 1/5

i agree. i think i bought same item as this. it is really hard to erase. it's somehow like a paint? :)) i never used it again. haha! :)

I had the whole set of colors of excel paris! I love all the shades and its cheaper! What i did to avoid the dryness, i use lipgloss first before i put excel paris lip cream. and it works! :))
ReplyDeleteGreat tip. I'll give that a try. Thanks. :)
Deletewhat's the code of pink?? i bought 507 coz when i saw on you tube it looks like light pink but when i had the product i got a bit disappointed coz its reddish..i wanna wear it in school but with this color,? i cant.. i hope somebody would post pictures of all shades so i can pick the right color..
Deletecan someone please post some picture of complete shades of this lip matte. coz i bought 507 and i thought it is pink coz thats what i saw in you tube but when i had the product it was reddish.. i got disappointed and i want to give it back to the seller to change the color but she said i cant..but the product itself was good and it looks natural..you just have to put lipbalm/lipgloss so you can rid of it quickly and it wouldnt look so dry..
DeleteI just had mine a while ago. It scared me so much too! It was so hard to remove!! Definitely a regret buy!

Use make up remover.
ReplyDeleteTried that. It still won't come off. :(
Deleteuse pretoleum jelly, then wipe it off with tissue..really works
DeleteI tried using Human natures Sunflower seed oil, it removed the lip gloss though it was way messy.
DeleteI have those too. I was really frustrated that it won't come off when I swatched it in my arm. Then I used soap to remove it, it was finally erased. But I'm scared too to try it on my lips. (As if I have to use soap too to remove it! HAHA)
ReplyDeleteI feel for you. That was also my problem with this. I was too scared to even try it on my lips.
Deletei'm really curious about this product because it is really trending in all online-makeup shops. my questions are... where did it came from and what are the ingredients of this matte lip cream. it's kinda doubtful because the price is so cheap. right? :) anyway, it's just my opinion. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the problem with this product. There is no list of ingredients so I can't check. But just to be safe, I don't recommend it to anyone. I agree with you. It's a bit doubtful because of the price. ;)
Deleteat last, I found a review with a 1/5 verdict. grabe ang mura nito Php 60, may Php 25 pa nga! I'll try to roam around Divi, at pag nakita ko 'to sa tiangge naku. haha. I suspect that it's a tiangge brand (like what we see on the sidewalks, the unpopular/unheard brands) that is trying to copy NYX matte lip creams.
ReplyDeleteKaya nga eh. Super mura. Nakakatakot isipin kung ano ingredient nito. :/
DeleteExcel Paris Lip creams looks ugly only if you don't know the proper application methods. Put balm first before you apply the cream on your lips. That way, it would be easier apply, thus, a better result. Mas madali din sya matanggal pag may balm. Iba ang resulta kpg snwatch sa lips at iba rin pag sa braso lang.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tip. I'll give that a try and maybe I can edit this post to add your tip. But as to the lip cream's SAFETY, I still can't vouch for it. I honestly think the price is very alarming. Sorry..
DeleteARTE.
ReplyDeletehi, u can check my site i sell excel paris, tnx

If you're having trouble removing the product, you can actually use petroleum jelly or estee lauder makeup remover. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, there's a reason why we pay 1k plus for MAC or some other know brands. I saw some sellers that sells this for 25php now that's really alarming! seriously? I admit that the colors look so beautiful and so many shades to chose from, but Im not gona risk it since wala talagang ingredients naka lagay.
ReplyDeleteFinally someone who gets my point! Its not just because of the paint-like result but also the ingredients. Thank you! :D

ReplyDeleteAccck. I was about to buy a whole box of this lip cream because I really like the colors. Thank God, I found your review of it. I tried searching for the ingredients online but I still can't find it. At this day and age, if you can't find anything in google then it's probably not safe.
ReplyDeleteThank you again! :)
You said it!! Anyway, good thing you haven't purchased any yet. Disaster averted. LOL!:D
DeleteHello , can someone please tell me where I can purchase them ? Thank you
ReplyDeleteTry Emaree Trendy Shop on Facebook.
Deletenag kalat sa Divi...mas maganda yong bagong packaging nila and it does not get dry on the lips and natatangal naman agad. para lang yong magic lipstick nung college pa ako.
DeleteI really like the colors specially in 508 but its quality = errrr no! Nakakatakot gamitin *___*
ReplyDeletei have a box of excel, and i am loving the shades of excel. specially 506. before i use excel ,gumagamit muna ako ng lip balm (not only in excel, kahit anong brand,. i use lip balm first before ill put the lipstick) it can add moisture and shine. and for my excel lip cream do well in me.
ReplyDeleteYikes, I'd seriously rather buy a department store brand than something so affordable but i'm not gonna be too sure if the ingredients are safe.
ReplyDeleteSubbed to your blog. :)

Good review! Thank you for this. Naku, it might contain lead pa nga. Let's not risk our health over these kind of products. There are some products naman that are cheap but really works well.
ReplyDeleteHi sis! great review! I also had this one and it's really hard to remove with regular tissues or even wet wipes... I actually used petroleum jelly..i first applied the petroleum jelly before wiping the product with tissue and it really works ;) ..I so agree with you! I would not recommend this to anyone.
ReplyDeleteFollowed your blog :)

I tried to find an authentic one. I searched google and saw one that says authentic and when i saw the price its only php120..i still don't think its really the one that's made in germany (although i'm not sure if there's really a product like this in germany)! Online sellers said that the products are imported from singapore..it seems.like a good make up. I actuallt have one but i'm still not sure if it's still safe...
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as imported from Singapore or SG authentic. It's just a tactic of dishonest sellers to be able to sell their products.
DeleteIf you go in sulit.com you'll find that it can also be sold less than php85. I love it to be honest. I actually have one but i'm still not sure if it's really safe...

ReplyDeletegood thing talaga I didn't buy this one.. kasabayan nya kasi lumabas yung mga singapore authentic mac.. so I was hesitant,:D
ReplyDeleteYung friend ko she is using it, sabi nya ok naman daw, but lately kasi nagkakaroon sya ng reaction around her lips, i think its because of the continous use. baka reaction na nga. and we still can't find the ingredients we are looking into it now.
ReplyDeleteI saw Excel Paris being sold at a shop for less than 20 php. I'm just wondering if there's an authentic version of it or is it really like that. :))
ReplyDeleteMay nakita na ako Nian said bangketa sa Angeles, hinahanap ko yung authentic na excel paris naman pero mukhang wala naman
