Review: Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap

I hate to admit it but society does have this thing wherein it forces everyone to believe in the same definition of beauty. Yes, we're more open-minded now but few years ago, if you ask majority of the people to describe their version of a pretty girl, you'll probably get answers among this lines: petite, maputi (fair complexion), flawless, chinita and/or long black hair. I somehow find it offending - given my morena skin and a bit bigger hip and body built. During those times, I got obsessed with making my skin whiter. I tried whitening soap, bleaches, oral whitening pills and almost got the injectable Saluta whitening thing. I wanted to conform to what it beautiful to majority. I know I'm not the only one. It honestly took me years to really appreciate everything about me and I'm proud to say that makeup played a big role in it.

Where am I really going with this? Well, nothing much really. I would just want to share my sentiments on beauty and of course share my experiences on some of the things I tried so far.

One of the most popular and effective whitening soap that it commercially available today is Kojie San, the one in a white box with a drawing of what seems to be a geisha. I used it for more than a year during my early college years. It was very effective BUT there was a trade off I was not willing to make so I had to stop using it. Every time I lather myself with that soap and my hair would slightly come into contact, my hair would be crazy dry for days! It was so frustrating. It was drying to the skin as well but that can be remedied by using a heavyduty moisturizing lotion but for the hair, there was nothing I can do -- I had to stop using it.

I've stayed away from most whitening products for the past year. The only reason I still use it is because it lightens the scratch marks on my legs. I no longer dream of becoming as white as snow but I sure as hell would love to be flawless! LOL! Who doesn't, right?

Flawless Beauty, a booming local shop on Facebook, sent me one of their bestsellers, the Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap. In a nutshell, it's main purpose is of course for skin brightening. No surprise there. But unlike other whitening products, Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap has little to no hard-to-pronounce chemical ingredients that are usually not good. Instead, it uses the properties of organic materials to aid skin brightening.

Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap has almost the same effect as Kojie San Soap. It's really effective in lightening scars that aren't deep. Though I can't say much for the entire skin color as I was only able to try one bar. But based on its performance so far, I think it's safe to say that it as effective as other whitening soaps I tried before -- maybe even better if used continuously and with their Arbutin lotion.

Also, Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap doesn't melt as easily as Kojie San Soap. Cutting it to little parts proves to be useful, still. More importantly, it doesn't dry up my hair nor my skin! I can let it sit on my entire body for several minutes to soak in the organic goodness and not worry about drying my skin like a chalkboard after.

Overall, I would recommend this to those who yearns to be few shades lighter or those with light marks from previous injuries that are on the surface of the skin as it proves to be helpful in lightening those kind of scars. It's a great buy actually. I'm even planning to buy the Alpha Arbutin Whitening Formula Plus Soap and Lotion duo some other time. I heard it's the bomb! *wink

  2. Oh, this product looks interesting. I'm such a sucker for whitening, brightening soaps specially organic ones pero this is to make my skin even. I have uneven skin tone kaya kahit I'm fair na I'm still using those soaps. Thanks for sharing :D)

  3. I agree with what you said on the first paragraph. I used to think of myself as ugly because I wasn't as fair as my sisters or my cousins. Plus, I got lots of scars, because I had highly sensitive skin when I was young. I started using whitening products because I wanted to make them go away and at least be acceptable to the society. As I grew up, I learned that there are other things that I should be proud of. =)

About the product, this seems to be an interesting one. I want to try it but I am not that keen when it comes to shopping online. Who knows? I might convince myself to buy this soon! For now, I'll stick with my Kojie San Soap. ^__^

  4. The first line stroke me most. Til now, I haven't appreciate what I have - chubby, rounded face, white spots on my skin and some imperfections. But as what they say, Learn to love your imperfections- it's the first step towards perfect beauty. I hope time would come that I would be able to love them all. Little by little :)

this product looks promising. It's organic and produced here in the Philippines. I'm currently using Kojie San which is really effective. However, with some cons that I found out, I might give this product a try :)

  7. Why not try a perfectly combined Gluta Plus Rosehips Skin Whitening Soap? Time to change the old beliefs. Like me I've been using one brand of papaya soap for 20 years and then I've come across this 2 tone whitening soap known as Be White. They claim that the soap can make you whiter in less than a week if it is "hiyang" to your skin.... luckily, my skin responded well on the soap and I achieve a smooth and whiter skin in days. I hope I could help you out with my reply. Visit them here http://www.facebook.com/bewhiteskin/
