Now here's the exact opposite of the MAC Rebel (Read review HERE) I posted last night. The former is dark and edgy while this one, MAC Giddy, is soft, sweet and very "girl next door-ish" type. From the comments I got on Rebel's review, I noticed that most girls don't really go for the strong and intimidating shades so I suppose a lot of you would appreciate this one more. :) Well, I too have that girly side you know. ;)
MAC Giddy appears to be more of a warm medium pink with a tinge of peach in the tube but is slightly different when actually worn. It becomes a soft pinkish coral shade with tiny specks of gold that are almost unnoticeable. The color is just so gorgeous and it compliments my warm skintone really well.
Again, MAC Giddy comes in a black bullet-type tube and MAC's signature vanilla scent. I think this particular shade was discontinued but is still available in Singapore - I think because that's where my cousin's officemate bought this during their company training. Anyway, sorry for the beaten up packaging, it kinda got messed up with all my other makeup stocks. :/

SWATCHES:
This is actually my first MAC lipstick with a lustre finish. It has very little color pay off and sheen finish compared to the ones with matte or satin finish so you could expect it to last only for 3-4 hours. Also, sometimes I think it's too creamy for those with dry lips because it has the tendency to settle on lines and crevices due to its consistency. Also, it glides on smoothly but often needs the help of a lip brush or clean finger to even out the color. Nonetheless, it's still a very pretty color. See! :)
Honestly, I love MAC Rebel more but I usually find myself reaching out for MAC Giddy more often when I head out or go to school simply because it's more wearable, the color is not overpowering and just enough for casual hangouts. I've been wearing this to school for 2 weeks straight now -- that's how much I like the shade. :)

I agree with you, @jenny. MAC lippies are worth every penny :) Giddy is beautiful for everyday use and you can also pair it with a brown and tad black or plum color for a more daring take. My everyday lippies are from WnW, in the shade of Pinkerbell. Love to wear it over my trusty Carmex lip balm ♥
ReplyDeleteI would love to use this as my everyday lippie. :) I think it would fit me just fine :) haha..
