During the 2nd or 3rd week of August, the BDJ Team already informed those who subscribed for the August Box – myself included – that the delivery for the said month’s box would be later than expected. That, combined with the recent typhoon that affected Laguna, I got my BDJ Box September 1. The slight delay wasn’t really a big deal for me especially because, seeing how well-curated the past boxes were, I just know the wait would be sooo worth it.

Lo and behold, a Shiseido exclusive box!:) Yup, you read it right. Last month’s BDJ Box was filled with the premium brand’s newest, most innovative skincare line to date. Oooh this is getting me so excited! <3

“Ibuki, which means “new breath” in Japanese, is Shiseido’s newest line. Ibuki Skincare builds skin’s resistance to UV rays, dryness and daily stress by infusing it with long-lasting moisture. Shiseido’s exclusive technology puts your skin in a super-hydrated state, so it can maintain a healthy, more radiant glow.” – Taken from www.shiseido.com

I first heard of this line from the top-rated beauty blogger, Liz Lanuzo of Project Vanity, during her quick trip to Japan. No, I’m not a stalker; I just happen to follow her on Instagram and came across her photos in Japan. I’m not new to the brand, as a whole – I’ve tried some of their products before.. I just never saved enough towards the end to be able to repurchase them. LOL! This time, maybe? 😀
Let’s see what I have in my August BDJ Box, shall we? 🙂
Shiseido Ibuki Gentle Cleanser (Sample Size | Php 1495, 125mL) – “For skin feeling refreshed and silky smooth to the touch, use this extra gentle cleanser everyday. It lather’s quickly into a rich foam and effectively cleans your skin while maintaining its ideal moisture balance.”
Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate Lotion (Sample Size |  Php 1600, 75mL) – “A concentrated softener that penetrates quickly and deeply to build the skin’s resistance by filling it with moisture. Prep your skin with this before applying moisturizer to reap the full benefits and get glowing skin.”
Shiseido Ibuki Eye Correcting Cream (Sample Size | Php 1800, 15mL) – “This cool, comforting eye cream diminishes the appearance of dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. Gently pat under your eyes and see them become more vibrant.”
Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate (Sample Size | Php 1600, 75mL) – “A concentrated softener that penetrates quickly and deeply to build the skin’s resistance by filling it with moisture. Prep your skin with this before applying moisturizer to reap the full benefits and get glowing skin.”
Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched (Sample Size | Php 1950, 75mL) – “This is a multi-functional moisturizer that improves visible pores, breakouts and skin roughness caused by dryness, resulting in a smoother and more refined skin texture. Best used at night.”
Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Whitening Formula (Sample Size | Php 5500, 50mL) – “A luxurious, highly-concentrated skin supplement that combats the effects of an aggressive environment. Visibly reduces fine lines, roughness, dryness, and other signs of premature aging while energizing and rehydrating skin.”
That’s a total of 6 deluxe samples. Normally, I compute for the total value of the products inside the box just to emphasize how much I get for my money. But this month is different since everything inside the box was all deluxe samples – these are given away for free or as GWP in other countries, not in our country though. But hey, Shiseido is still Shiseido, right?
I’ve read a lot of mixed review about this month’s box actually. Some said that they weren’t satisfied and one even said that this is by far the lousiest box. But if you know Shiseido, you’ll know that the brand in general isn’t exactly cheap (ranges from Php 1,500 up to almost Php 6,000) and what BDJ Box does is that they allow us to try these luxury products before committing to pay for the whole price. I won’t lie.. this isn’t my favorite box but it is, like always, worth my money. 🙂

By the way, I think the subscription for the October box is already closed.. and I didn’t get the chance to reserve one for myself. So I guess there won’t be an unboxing post next month. Boo! *sob*
