Finally after a devastating typhoon, I can go back to posting homemade beauty alternatives for the organic-loving thrifty chicks out there! πŸ™‚ This time I researched on foods that are packed with vitamins that great for helping calm troubled skin. This do-it-yourself facial masks is for those who, like me, are experiencing breakouts or those dealing with breakout’s aftermath – pimple scars. I feel for you, girls. Pimple and pimple marks are in no way attractive. Let’s get busy and try to remove ’em in the cheapest way possible, alright?
For those of you who don’t know, banana is rich in manganese, water and vitamin C and B6 which means that regardless whether you prefer eating your banana or using it as a mask, it will help nourish your skin from inside out. Honey, on the other hand, is known to hydrate and enhance our skin’s natural glow. How exactly? By retaining moisture of course!
It’s no secret that this awesome duo, when applied directly to the skin, will surely improve our complexion and even smooth wrinkles with continuous use. All we have to do now is to tap into those natural goodness for our vanity’s sake. LOL!
Shall we get started? πŸ˜‰
4 easy-breezy steps to follow!

STEP 1: Mash the banana in a clean bowl. Some use spoon but I prefer using fork since the gaps in between makes the mashing process faster. You could also cut the banana into smaller pieces before putting them in the bowl.
STEP 2: Add a tablespoon of honey.
For an added bonus, you can also add few drops of lemon or calamansi to reduce the appearance/lighten pimple scars. I, personally, didn’t do so because I accidentally scratched my face a day ago. And lemon or calamansi will surely cause a burning feeling on open wound. So do keep this in mind, if you have an open wound/pimple or undergoing a peeling treatment, don’t add lemon or calamansi.

STEP 3: Just mix ’em all together until you get a gooey paste-like consistency.
STEP 4: Using a clean synthetic brush that you seldom use, apply the mask on your entire face and neck. Leave it for 15-20 minutes. After which, rinse with warm water. Make sure that the brush you’re using is absolutely clean. Else, instead of treating your breakout, you’ll just make it worse.

Don’t mind the pimple. FOCUS ON THE PORES. πŸ™‚
Sorry about the inconsistency of the lighting. Mr. Sun went missing after I removed the mask. Anyway, let me just show you the instant result I got — this could vary since our skin tends to react differently. The pimple is of course still there after one use so as the pimple marks — this will lighten with continuous use though. But you can see from the picture how my pores shrunk after using it. I swear I didn’t edit the after picture for I am totally clueless on how Adobe Photoshop works. I only ask my boyfriend to edit pictures on extreme cases like banners and things like that. The best I can do is to put stamps and watermarks on pictures. LOL! So rest assured that the result is real.
See, no need to spend hundreds of pesos on expensive chemical masks. All we need are in the comfort of our homes. πŸ˜€
