After all the at-home hair experiments I’ve subjected my locks to over the past few months, I thought it was high time to bring my hair to the professionals. As much as I had fun playing with my hair, it became too dry and brittle to style so in an attempt to resuscitate it so I had it cut short – a little past the shoulders just to be safe. And to keep make it more manageable, I had it rebonded as well. But one thing was missing, though. The color was off – probably because of the botched dye job I did. The ombre looked great when my hair was long but when cut short, the highlights were just off. Oppss!
And as always, I got a salon invite at the best time imaginable, haha. What’s even better is that it was at the salon I’ve always wanted to try! No kidding. Ever since I’ve heard of Lourd Ramos’ salon, I’ve been wanting to give it a try but was afraid that it might cost me an arm. If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, Lourd Ramos was the head hairstylist for the Philippine Fashion Week.
I actually met Lourd a few years back when my tito “coerced” his friend, Jim Ryan Ros, Makeup Artist for Maybelline, to let me “work” with him (read: follow around) during the Philippine Fashion Week. I believe that was 3 or 4 years ago so I doubt if Lourd even remembers me. Plus I was too shy to introduce myself again as the girl who used to hand him bobby pins and help him apply hair spray on models years ago so I just sat on the salon chair and pretended it was my first time meeting him. Haha! Talk about being socially awkward. 🙂
That time I overheard him invite Bianca Valerio to his salon. THE Bianca Valerio. That was when I learned that he actually owns a chain of salons, Creations Salon by Lourd Ramos. Fast forward to the present; I’m now no longer the girl handing bobby pins. Instead I was a partner blogger for Cynos who was invited to the salon to experience their newest Glamer Hair Color. Oh, how time flies. <3
Cynos recently launched a brand new collection for 2015 called Ethereal Collection using Glamer Hair Color. The collection showcases a lot of fresh new hair ideas but what stuck with me from the first time I saw the video late last year was their Violet Reaction. So when I received the invite a few weeks back, they didn’t have to show me the hair color catalog for I knew exactly what I wanted. I WANT VIOLET HAIR. 😀
Glamer Permanent Hair Color. With DuoFuse technology (4C Technology), its color pigmentation is twice the color making it last longer & fuller on hair. With Vitamin E, Omega 6 and Omega 9 that guarantees “damage and dryness free” on hair after color. It is low in ammonia and its new scent is subtle flowery blossom.
True enough, Glamer Hair Color didn’t smell as strong as other coloring products. It had a light hint of flowery scent but again, not too much. I’m really not that picky when it comes to hair dye odors – as long as it doesn’t sting my eyes, I’m good.
As you can see, red was mixed with the violet hair to give it more depth and movement.
Since I have like a 2-inch regrowth, the hair color on the roots was applied separately. The very talented hair color technician as well as Ms. Angel kept checking my hair to make sure it hair won’t get fried in the process. I knew my hair was in great hands. Thank you for taking care of my hair. 😀
For a complete salon pampering experience, our nails were done using CND Shellac, a gel nail polish that is totally life-proof. It doesn’t budge no matter what activity I engage to. I even did some carpentry work for my room and my nail polish is still intact. I’ve had it for weeks, too, and the glossy finish really stays. It claims to stay on for 2 whole weeks but based from personal experience, it’s way beyond the 2-week mark.
Here’s another blast-from-the-past moment. During that one day that I was at the back stage of the Philippine Fashion Week, one of the things I learned was how to create bangs without cutting the models’ hair. Yes, I saw Lourd Ramos do it and it was amazing. I’m truly a fan. Hope to see you again!:)
Don’t forget to drop by his salon!

Now for the moment of truth.
The color was AMAZING! I was totally blown away by how well it turned out. To be honest, I was a bit worried at first because I felt like I wasn’t able to fully explain how I want it to be but to my surprise, the Creations team was still able to deliver. I love the red parts on the crown area that gave my hair movement, the bright purple tone on the tips, and the way they styled it. Aahh! I loved every bit of it!
Sad that I had to say good bye to it all in less than two weeks. Make no mistake, it was actually my fault and I was fairly warned that the color will not seep into the hair strands because I recently had my hair rebonded. If only I knew earlier.. I would’ve postponed my rebonding appointment. The violet hair color was waaaay prettier than straight hair. *sob* At least now I know where to get my hair done again if ever I wish to go back to that gorgeous violet hair for summer. <3
Okay, so my hair finally stopped bleeding hair dye whenever I take a shower so I’m assuming this would be my permanent hair color.. for now. It’s no longer violet but I like it. Notice how it’s the reddish brown color that I usually go for but more vibrant. I may have not been able to keep my stunning violet hair but I’m glad that coloring didn’t damage by newly rebonded hair.
If anything, it became softer, more manageable than before I had it dyed. I bet the Cynos Hair Repair kit they gave us during the event did help a lot. I’ll write a separate review on it soon. 🙂 Sooooo how did you like my new hair? I can’t wait to hear what you think. Sound off on the comment section below. :*
