My boyfriend and I love food and just basically discovering new restaurants and food chains that are blog-worthy. If you’re a longtime reader, you probably already figured that out by now given all the buffet posts and #FoodPorn photos on my Instagram account.. and yeah, my constant gaining of weight. HAHA. Anyway, I thought I might as well put that to good use and so I decided to create this new “Food Trip” segment on my blog. It’s nothing much, just random posts about new places and foods that you should try. 🙂

Let’s start with this burger chain that gave “burger-sharing” a new, less-messy, meaning. Slammin’ Mini Burgers got its start when Slammin’ president Patrick Dy and his partners decided to take their existing brand, Slammer Burgers, in a new direction. “We changed our whole culture, look and logo. Totally revamped and upgraded our menu. The main reason for the change is for Slammin’ to eventually become the number one mini burger concept in Asia.” And of course, it’s the food that will drive this goal. The restaurant’s motto is, “Every bite is Slammin’,” and from their roster of bestsellers, it’s easy to see how their mini burgers live up to the hype.
Last week BF and I went to the  Slammin’ Mini Burgers’ branch in Market Market before heading for a movie date. Their Market Market branch, based on photos online, is a lot smaller than their flagship branch in Promenade, Greenhills. It’s a small kiosk-type near the cinemas which I think is a nice strategic move. Personally, I prefer popcorn when watching a movie simply because it’s easier to eat but with the bite-size burgers of Slammin’ Mini Burgers, the playing field is now even. I just love how the burgers are placed in single cardboard packets that are easier to carry and hold even when watching a movie. Get this, without creating any mess! Plus if you’re someone who likes the small amounts of different flavors, you get exactly that with Slammin’ Mini Burgers’ servings and sets.
A good burger is an experience that needs to be shared, but unfortunately, attempting to do so often means having a mess on your hands. But if you’re at a burger joint with friends and family, how do you let everyone try what you’re enjoying—and get a couple of bites of what they’re having in return? Slammin’ Mini Burgers + Fries + Dips has come up with the solution: serve two or three smaller-sized burgers per order!
Slammin’ Trio.  The patties are really beefy that even with the bun-to-patty ratio, you can still distinguish how prominent the taste of the beef is. I tried the Bacon n’ Mushroom one as I love mushroom in almost everything. 🙂 Oh, BF kept pushing me to try the onions on one of the burgers because according to him, they were surprisingly sweet. I don’t like onions but it seemed like he thoroughly enjoyed them on his burgers. HAHA.
Looking for something to pair with your mini burgers? You can choose between the Mighty Mushroom Bacon, topped with sour cream and cheese sauce, crispy bacon, button mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, and sautéed onions; or the Beefy Supreme with ground chuck, roasted garlic and cheese sauce, fresh tomatoes, and sautéed onion strings. Or if you prefer something simple, try Slammin’s Loaded Fries, which a large serving of thick-cut fries covered with toppings.
Since I asked the boyfriend to order for us, he ordered the Mighty Mushroom Bacon or what he fondly called as the “Nacho Fries” and it tastes amazing! My personal favorite from all the things we ordered. <3
Apart from these, there are what the restaurant calls Sidekicks—great add-ons or alternatives to their menu’s “heroes.” Slammin’ Wings are tossed in either the mildly hot and tangy Buffalo-style sauce or the sweeter Honey Glazed sauce and served with a dip of your choice. Another option would be the Beer-Battered Fish and Chips, with soft and delectable fish coated in Slammin’s Signature Beer Batter and deep fried to a crispy, perfect golden brown. This is paired with thick-cut and crispy fries and a large-sized dip of your choice.
Want something more adventurous? Slammin’s Black Box Creations are limited-edition mini burgers made with extraordinary ingredients—and they’re only on the menu for six months.
Here’s what’s currently available: the John Candy topped with salted caramel, sautéed onions, melted cheddar, and bacon; the Romeo and Juliet with bacon, melted cheese, strawberry jam, and salted butter; and The Big Kahuna with pineapple chunks, sriracha mayo, teriyaki glaze, melted cheddar, and bacon. And once you’ve eaten your fill of these, come back in a few months to try the new offerings!
The menu at Slammin’ Mini Burgers may be simple, but it’s filled with sure winners, the better to guarantee that every bite is indeed “slammin”. I can’t believe how affordable they are – Php500 was all it took for us to fill up our tummies before the movie. <3
You can find Slammin’ Mini Burgers + Fries + Dips at the ground floor
of the new wing of Promenade Mall in Greenhills.; at Food Choices, Level 2,
Trinoma; on the fifth floor of Market! Market!, near the cinema area and a fourth
branch is slated to open in Robinsons Magnolia in the fourth quarter of 2014.
