This is a bit off-topic but I don’t know if you’ve noticed how a lot of brands come up with new releases during the holiday season. I just realized this as I complete my wishlist for this year, haha. I have been listing a lot of high-end products which I later cross off knowing that there are also drugstore products that are almost as good [but at a fraction of the cost!]. Like the MAC Paint Pot I was thinking of buying before the matte Maybelline 24Hr Color Tattoo fell into my lap.. I still might end up buying it just so I can compare the two tho. *wink!
The Maybelline NYFW fever continues! For this week’s #MakeItHappen post, I attempted to recreate a look from the NYFW using some of the Maybelline featured products. 😀

Base: I started off with a silicon-base primer. I prefer silicon because the texture fills in the lines around my eyes and pores a lot better than other primers. After creating a smooth and even canvass, I applied foundation using a stippling brush, focusing on the undereye area to cover my dark circles. And to set everything in place, I use Maybelline White SuperFresh Powder to keep my face matte and oil-free for hours. I usually use a fluffy brush to dust the powder on my T-zone but since I didn’t use any concealer, I needed a little more coverage hence the sponge. Don’t forget to add a bit of color on the cheeks with a subtle pink blush.
Eyes: When my eyebrows are already neat and nicely shaped, I just quickly fill in the gaps with an eyebrow pencil. But when I’m feeling fancy (even when I’m just going to buy a carton of milk at the grocery store); I put on a thin layer of brow mascara for the added tint.
The quickest way to add a wash of color on my lids is with a pigmented cream eyeshadow – my weapon of choice: Maybelline 24Hr. Color Tattoo. Now it comes in a matte taupe shade that is perfect for everyday! The color, as well as the application is effortless. It goes with everything and it actually stays put for hours. To give it a little oomph, I add a bit of copper shade to warm up the area.
Keepin’ it nice and clean with the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Brown for defined-yet-subtle look. It’s very easy to use, but remember to keep the line as close to your lash line as possible to make your lashes look fuller. Load up on mascara, too, to emphasize the eyes.
Lips: Let your lips do the talkin’! I’m totally loving the new Maybelline Velvet Matte Lipstick in MAT12, a peachy nude shade. But since I stayed with neutral eyeshadow shades for this look, I need a bit more color. I first dabbed a bit of Maybelline Bold Matte in MAT5 to even the color of my lips, only then did I apply MAT12.
Now that’s my take on the NYFW 2016 look using mostly Maybelline featured products. Great news: there will be a Maybelline New York Fashion Week Sale from November 13 to December 15, 2015. Grab the chance to get your hands on their NYFW featured products at fraction of the price!
