The other day I was tried (and eventually failed) to organize my makeup area once again. I tossed out quite a few products to make sure I don’t accidentally use them when I’m in a hurry. And honestly, there’s really no point in keeping products that are near their expiration date. I really didn’t get to finish organizing my stuff because I don’t have enough space. One great thing that came out of attempting to clean my area was that I noticed how much products I have per brand.
One of the brands I first started using was Maybelline. Well, come to think of it, this may be the most prominent brand in my makeup stash at the moment. I have more Maybelline than I have MAC, L’Oreal or even Revlon. That said, I decided to start another kind of post wherein I create a complete look by using products from just one brand.. and it’s only logical to start with Maybelline, right? I’ve been loyal to the brand since high school; no wonder I have enough products to complete a whole look using Maybelline alone!

Face. Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser to fill in lines and blur out pores. This creates a smooth canvass for the makeup. Also, it is able to improve the makeup longevity. Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation for a light, luminescent finish. It offers just enough coverage to even out my complexion and conceal minor blemishes. Since I’ve been getting enough sleep lately and I always wear my glasses, I don’t spend much time concealing my dark circles.
Maybelline White Super Fresh Powder to set everything and to keep my face looking fresh for hours. It keeps oiliness at bay so I barely need to retouch mid-day. Maybelline Cheeky Glow for a subtle touch of pink to give color to my otherwise dull skin.
LIPS. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in ‘Are You Red-Dy’; a beautiful red shade that isn’t too intimidating for daytime errands. It is a lovely red shade with a tinge of coral undertone and a moderate sheen finish that truly matches my current hair color.
BROWS. Maybelline Fashion Brow Sharp Pencil to outline my desired eyebrow shape and fill in any gaps. It is not waterproof but it does offer a decent wear time in spite of the constant sweating. Maybelline Fashion Brow Mascara, of course, to make my eyebrows look fuller and to give the color more depth. This also ensures that the brow strands stay in place and intact for the entire day. ‘How I Do My Brows’ tutorial soon. 😉
EYES. Maybelline 24HR Color Tattoo in ‘Bad To The Bronze’ and ‘Barely Branded’ for the quick and easy eye makeup. They’re both very pigmented and impressively long lasting. Both shades are very easy to pull-off as well. Maybelline HyperSharp Liner for the effortless winged eyeliner look. Its pointed tip allows clean and precise application. Lastly, Maybelline HyperCurl Mascara to give volume and length to my otherwise nonexistent lashes.
Although this is part of the #MUSTcara installment, I actually bought 8 out of the 11 products included in the post so there isn’t really any kind of bias here. Like I said, I’ve been using Maybelline since high school so even without the series, I’d still be repurchasing these products. They truly are worth buying; take my word for it. 🙂

By the way, I haven’t gotten around to writing individual reviews for some of the products but don’t worry, I’ll get on it right away. *wink!

TIME TO SMIZE! Just to mix things up a bit, I tried the smize-thing. You know, the one you often here Tyra Banks say on America’s Next Top Model. Smize means smiling through the eyes, and without baring your teeth. This actually reminds me of the era of the Geisha when all it took was just a millisecond of eye contact to express something you can’t really put into words. Don’t underestimate the power of eye contact, my dear. <3

Smize tips I gathered from the internet: Try limiting your smile, tilt your head a bit and slightly squint your eyes. And this is the best I can do, haha. I have to say, the HyperCurl Mascara really did play a big role here as it made my eyes look bigger and more awake. It also appears to be more expressive, don’t you think? I’d like to see you give this smize thing a try, too. 🙂

Okay, we all know I’m no model material so I can’t really perfect the smize. Honestly, I had more goofy shots than doing the smize thing. HAHA! To leave y’all on a lighter note.. here, for your viewing pleasure.. just some of less crazy photos I took. <3 That’s it for this post. I hope you enjoyed it and I look forward to doing another ‘One Brand Makeup’ post.
