I was ecstatic when I got an invite for Paula’s Choice launching that was held last Wednesday. I honestly can’t be more excited about this brand. I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about Paula’s Choice from my all-time favorite Youtube Guru, Wayne Goss. He totally swears by this brand and seeing that he is very keen with his reviews and the products he use, I was drawn to testing the products from the brand to see for myself.

I was actually planning on buying the products all the way from UK this December – my Christmas gift for myself – when Ms. Jerusha emailed me about their launching. Good thing I decided to wait ’til December `coz now I can save on shipping cost. <3 Let’s see if this post – specifically the demonstrations – could persuade you to try it too. *wink!

About the brand. At the age of 11 Paula Begoun, author of best-selling book, Don’t Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me, and founder of Paula’s Choice, began her struggle with acne and eczema. Then at the age of 25, she began reading ingredient label on a skincare products. From that moment on she engaged in the journey of researching all the she could find on skin care and eventually she was able to put together a skincare routine that completely transformed not only her skin but also helped many others.

In 1995, armed with her knowledge of skincare ingredients, Paula Begoun decided to create her own skincare line. Paula’s Choice only uses proven ingredients that can truly make the skin look younger and radiant as well as reduce wrinkles, lessen or eliminate acne, and work perfectly for those with sensitive skin. All products are said to be 100% guaranteed.

Ms. Naree Mongkol, Managing Director of Paula’s Choice, introduced the brand and gave us a brief insight about how it all started. Would you believe that she’s already 41? She gives all the credit to Paula’s Choice products so the brand must be really good. I hope I my skin would look this good when I reach that age. 🙂

Some of Paula’s Choice’s best sellers. I know we’re all skeptics here and that we need a little convincing so let’s see how 2 of their products work, shall we?
Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish. Ms. Naree applied cooking oil on the back of Julia’s both hands to imitate how our skin tends to oil up during hot summer days. Then on the other hand, she applied the Shine Stopper Instant Matte Finish. Lo and behold, the oil was gone in just a few minutes! It became completely matte, soft and scent-free! I was in awe. I need this! 🙂
RESIST C15 Super Booster. For this demonstration, 2 slices of apples sliced the night before the event was used. As expected, they were brownish and almost rotting. After showing them around, Ms. Naree generously applied the Resist C15 Super Booster on one apple and massaged it for less than 2 minutes. Even before the serum was fully absorbed, the effects are already visible.
It was able to significantly reverse the browning effect. The other slice looked fresher – as if it was just cut prior the event. I saw this with my own two eyes and I can really attest to its authenticity. If the Resist C15 Super Booster can do this in less than 5 minutes, imagine what it can do to the skin when used for a month or even a week.
Food break! There were 3 tables with specific themes: Cookies & Ice Cream, Apples & Bananas and Chinese. My initial gut feeling told me to go for the sweets but since I had too much of that from the Tous Les Jours event, I decided to go for the Chinese Cuisine instead.
For the Chinese cuisine, we had 3 different dumplings and a whole lot of seasonings to choose from.
Being very Pinoy and all, I wanted to eat the dumplings like regular siomai. You know, with toyo and calamasi. LOL! As it turns out, these authentic Chinese dumplings were meant to be eaten with the green tea broth or some sort. Toinks! *Another facepalm moment. Anyway, after that, I had a huge craving for Chinese food! It just tastes soooo good. 🙂
Apple and banana tarts for dessert.
More sweets. <3
Take-home goody bags for the attendants. Curious what’s inside my loot bag? 😉 I got the Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment 5% AHA specially made for evening out skintone and reducing signs of aging. I got a couple of sample too, by the way.

Paula’s Choice will be available on Lazada and Zalora soon. I believe they’realso open for resellers. Now for the most important part, I know most of you are already wondering how much their products would cost. We were told that the price point for their products would be around Php 1,120 which, in my opinion, is very reasonable given how promising their products are. I can’t wait to try ’em!
