Review school has definitely taken its toll on me and I hate how it’s making itself apparent – I’m always bloated, huge dark bags under my eyes and yes, pimpies popping out one after another. I just hope all the sacrifices are worth it.. for the meantime, I have no other viable option than to change my skincare regimen, something that focuses mainly on healing and preventing the recurring breakout. One specific regimen that has proven to be quite effective for my breakout is the new Belo Essentials AcnePro skincare line. Yes, I’m talking about the WHOLE line. Be confident enough to say #GoodbyePimpy with the new Belo Essentials AcnePro range. 🙂

Belo Essentials AcnePro is a range of scientifically-formulated products, each with a distinct benefit for smoother and pimple-free skin. This powerful anti-acne line is infused with Purified Bee Venom clinically proven to treat mild to moderate acne and reduce inflammation. Bee Venom is derived from honey bees (Apis Mellifera) from a venom sac stored by the stinger. The raw bee venom is purified using methods that are safe for the bees.
I honestly haven’t given the brand much thought up until my rather impressive encounter with their Kojic Soap. Like me, most people would normally just walk pass by Belo products in department stores because we have this common notion that they’re expensive and that only celebrities can afford them BUT I’m telling you, don’t be intimidated for they’re actually quite affordable. Slightly a bit more than your “teen products” but a lot less than high end brands – still, worth every cent.
The Belo Essentials AcnePro regimen comes with 3 basic steps: wash, tone and then spot treatment. I personally use a light moisturizer between the toner and the spot treatment to give my skin a little bit of moisture boost but we’ll talk about that in another post.
The routine starts with the Facial Wash. It is a transparent, gel-like wash that smells a lot like your ordinary body soap which, for me, was a bit disturbing at first but surprisingly, it doesn’t foam up as much as there were very minimal suds. It takes a while to rinse but after washing everything off, my skin feels squeaky clean although ever-so slightly dry. The last part is to be expected, really, given that most anti-acne products do contain drying agents to literally dry out the pimples and remove acne causing bacteria & excess oil to prevent future breakouts.
This next part is the most important step for me, with or without breakout: tone. I’m very anal when it comes to removing makeup and cleaning my face as I am prone to breakouts lately. I always use makeup remover, thoroughly wash my face, too, but I CANNOT, for the life of me, skip toner. Toner just strips away all the stubborn makeup residue that, if not removed before hitting the sack, could possibly cause the breakout. Like the facial wash, the toner isn’t drying. It doesn’t have a strong astringent smell to it nor does it sting the eyes. I love how it removes every hint of dirt and makeup and unclog congested pores & dries up pimples.
Now for the holy grail of the set, the AcnePro Pimple Gel. It’s a transparent gel that you put directly on top of your pimple to help speed up the drying process and calms inflammation while promoting wound-healing & anti-bacterial action.
I strongly wouldn’t recommend using it on open skin but, well, I did and I’m glad to report that it didn’t hurt at all so I’d say that its active ingredients aren’t too harsh on the skin. It effective dries out pimple in a matter of 2 days and what’s even more impressive is that it even prevents the cystic (ones that are deep within the skin so they tend to resurface again after 4-6 days on a close spot) pimples from coming back.
Overall, I’m genuinely impressed by the set as a whole – they’re budget-friendly, easy to find in leading stores and insanely effective. But that’s just me; I normally don’t get a lot of pimples but I guess the environment and stress level is a big contributor here. I’m still yet to try it on my little brother who’s been bothered by breakouts ever since he hit puberty, though. We’ll see. 🙂
