Most of us try to hold unto the last piece of summer vibe as much as we can but when the rain comes pouring on a daily basis, that’s a clear sign that summer is indeed finally over. It’s time to neatly put those bikinis and shades at the back end of your drawers and pull out them boots and umbrellas. Although one summer thing we can’t easily shake off is our noticeably tanner skin tone from all the beach hopping and road trips. Now that’s the first item on my “summer-is-over” agenda: get my normal skin tone back so I can use my regular foundations again.
Having the same problem as I am? Worry not because the country’s top-rated celebrity dermatologist formulated the perfect solution specifically aimed to solve our dilemma. Like a direct answer to our prayers, the Belo authority recently launched Belo Intensive Whitening Bar (Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid). This whitening bar boasts of a unique combination of today’s two most powerful whitening actives – Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid. Leave it to the Belo authority to expertly formulate an effective product with such impeccable timing, too. 🙂
I’m beginning to think that not all kojic soaps are made equal. To appreciate this more, shall we take a dip on the scientific/technical side of things? Next to papaya extract, Kojic Acid is the most basic and most easily accessible whitening soap in the market. I’ve tried several whitening soaps before and so far, those that contain kojic acid have proven to show better result than other soaps. Kojic acid is known for inhibiting production of tyrosinase and melanin. If you don’t know, melanin is the main source of our skin’s pigmentation; the lesser the melanin production is, the whiter our skin would be.
Unlike other commercially available kojic whitening soaps, Belo Essentials Kojic Soap has Tranexamic Acid that makes it 64% better than kojic alone. I know most of us here aren’t very specific with the nitty gritty parts of the contents but simply put, Tranexamic Acid prevents inflammation and melanin formation which makes it more effective in lightening dark spots. This, combined with the Kojic acid, makes Belo Essentials Kojic Soap one of the most effective, budget-friendly whitening soap out in the market today.
I’ll say this much: Belo Essentials took the packaging of your basic kojic soap to a different level. It’s definitely not your ordinary run-of-the-mill carton box that melts with your soap. It’s glossy, durable and not to mention it slides and bends half-way then out pops the soap. Plus points for the inspiring quotes about beauty in every box. <3
Each soap is only 65 grams. If there’s one thing I would complain about this product is that they don’t have more sizes of it. 🙂 The soap itself doesn’t melt easily even with a wee bit of water but you see.. I go through soaps like lighting fast so a bigger chunk of Belo Essentials Kojic Soap would be a lot less hassle, for me at least.
Kojic soaps are quite drying to the skin – some more than others – and it’s a big factor for me that Belo Essentials Kojic Soap is the least drying from the bunch. I love that my skin doesn’t feel as dry and stretched after bath but is still able to give me that nice squeaky clean feeling at the same time.
Case in point, I don’t have to worry about my hair touching my soapy back because I know it won’t dry out my hair like the other kojic soap I used did. Another thing, I no longer have that “chalkboard line” when I run my nails on my skin – that’s without any lotion! Granted that it’s always best for the skin to apply lotion after taking a bath but you can’t honestly tell me that that’s not a good sign especially for a whitening product.
I haven’t used it long enough to capture the result on still but I can truly attest to its superior moisturizing property as compared to other kojic soaps I’ve had the privilege of trying before. Take it from the girl who’s been addicted to skin whitening for almost half of her life. Haha. But as far as skin whitening goes, I did notice my skin got a lot lighter – most noticeable after I wash my face. No major change on my overall skin tone but the skid marks on my lower leg did lighten. I honestly find the immediate results to be quite convincing and encouraging, to say the least. The way I see it, if it was able to deliver these results in such a small amount of time, what more if I use it for months! Be ready to see me flaunting my skid mark-free legs soon. HAHA.
