Remember when I said Godiva Lico-Max and EOS lip balms are the perfect complimentary lip products? Read product comparison HERE. Well, I will have to retire both products because I finally found the one product that can do what the other two can — better. Non-greasy but can really moisturize the lips.
Girls, meet my new love, CARMEX. πŸ™‚
Brand Background:
(Info taken from Carmex‘s site)
Carmex lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars. Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Now I understand why a friend of mine commented, “Carmex is LOVE” when I posted a picture of the Carmex package I received.
Sorry I can’t show you an individual picture of Original Carmex Jar in it’s packaging because I was already using it for a week before I took the photos below. I was really excited and I just ripped it open. LOL!
ORIGINAL CARMEX JAR
The one that started it all.
– Available since 1937, with over 1 billion jars sold!
– Original lip-tingling formula
– Available in .25 and .5 oz. sizes

CARMEX STRAWBERRY STICK

A berry nice way to treat your lips.

– Strawberry flavor in a solid stick
– Moisturizing lip balm
-Contains SPF 15 sunscreen
– Available in .15 oz. stick

I don’t know why but I’m really addicted to the clicking sound it makes. Plus, it has SPF! πŸ˜€

ORIGINAL CARMEX TUBE

Your main squeeze.

– Original lip-tingling formula
– Moisturizing lip balm
-Available in .35 oz. tube
I haven’t really used this one a lot. But I find the other two to be incredibly moisturizing!
How much do I love Carmex? Hmm. I keep my Original Carmex Jar on my desk together with my skincare products because it is now included in my face routine before going to sleep. And the Strawberry Click Stick is always in my kikay kit. Does that give you an idea on how much I’m loving my Carmex lip balms? πŸ™‚
PRO’s
– The packaging is sturdy and light weight, easy to carry around. I also like the classic yellow and red color.
– It’s inexpensive. (Php 109.75)
Unlike my Godiva lip balm, Carmex is not greasy. You can use it right before applying lipstick and the color will still stain your lips instead of just lying on top the lip balm. Can you picture what I’m trying to say? LOL!
– Lipstick glides smoothly after putting the lip balm.
– It makes my lips really soft and smooth. No questions about it’s moisturizing effect to my lips. It’s awesome!
– Relieves the symptoms of cold sores.
– Non-addictive and not tested on animals.
– At first, I thought I was having an allergic reaction because of the tingling sensation minutes after the application. Silly me. It was just the lip balm’s minty effect. LOL! Love it!
– No more chapped lips!
CON’s
– The Original Carmex Jar smells mildly like Vick’s Vapor Rub at first so I don’t usually use it minutes before eating. BUT you’ll get used to the smell and it usually fades after 5-10 minutes.
– I just wish the Original Jar and Tube also has SPF.
Buy Again? Definitely! Highly recommended. πŸ™‚
My Verdict: A perfect 5/5!
