Just the other day I was driving from Cavite to Laguna early in the morning and I was caught in the morning traffic towards the end of Daang Hari. We were moving extremely slow when I noticed the lady in the car right next to mine. She was doing her complete hair AND makeup routine while driving.. again, it was rather slow but still, that takes skills, girl! Her hair was up on these traditional plastic curlers while she was putting on liquid liner and then mascara. All throughout the drive, I was just watching her do her thing. She’s amazing – although a bit reckless, to be honest. HAHA. I got to see her finish and I have to admit, she looked terrific. Her hair was nicely done, too. Two thumbs up for her!
Anyway, the reason I remembered that story is because I have yet another review for y’all. It’s my first ever Covergirl product actually and I got it from the last BDJ Social Event I attended. They had this booth where you could trade in your used mascara for a new, full-sized Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara. I really wanted to try their mascara so I took a deep breath and traded in my favorite Clinique High Impact Mascara (Read review HERE) for it. It was the only mascara I had with me at the time; I had no choice but to sacrifice it. *Sob sob!*

Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion. Experience COVERGIRL’s first-ever volume + length mascara! The fiberstretch formula and oversized brush make every little lash bigger, fuller, longer-looking, and more dramatic. * Also available in Water Resistant! *vs bare lashes
Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara is housed in a chubby purple plastic tube. I like how the brush is initially separated from the tube as this prevents product from clumping on and in between the bristles of the wand prior use. It is more hygienic this way, I think. The packaging as a whole is light but I think it is too big and bulky for a mascara.
The bristles of the applicator are short, evenly distributed and a bit rough as they are made of stiff plastic. The wand itself is too wide for the shape of my eyes, as well. But taking all those into consideration, it still is surprisingly good. It takes effort to use on the bottom lashes but I love how well it separates the lashes as opposed to just clumping them into thick lumps of lashes. It puts on just the right amount of product with every layer.
Let’s put Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara to the test.
Left: Curled lashes but without mascara | Right: With Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara
Length. I love how Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara adds length to the lashes while still keeping them defined. It’s not like other mascaras that  gives you obnoxiously long lashes but makes it web-like towards the ends because of the excessive fiber particles. It looks very natural and it doesn’t clump even after several coats. I like it best for everyday use because it doesn’t make me look too made up for simple errands.
Volume. Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara holds up curls pretty well but unfortunately, it offers very little volumizing effect to the lashes. It darkens the lashes which give it the illusion of thicker lashes but not close to what you’d really want a volumizing mascara to do.
It doesn’t flake off during the day but it does, however, have the tendency to smudge if rubbed when wet. Just don’t rub it and let it be – it will last the whole day. It is rather easy to remove with makeup remover or even wet wipes. I would recommend this Covergirl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara to those who wants long, natural-looking lashes. It’s actually a great mascara for daily use but not really your cup of tea if you value volume over length or if waterproof mascara is what you need.
