If you need to keep oiliness at bay and your makeup intact but on a tight budget, this baby is for you! It genuinely amazes me how ELF comes up with quality products at such affordable prices. Primer was actually one of the makeup steps I learned last so to make up for the lost time, I’ve always been on the lookout for face primers ever since. And on my desk right now is ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer which I ordered all the way from US just like most of my other ELF products. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bragging about being able to buy products from the US. It’s actually the opposite; ELF products are leaps and bounds cheaper there so I opt to buy them there. Talk about being kuripot. *wink
Product Information:

Mineral Infused Face Primer
your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face
Primer. Developed to combat excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarge pores and fine
lines to result in a natural and youthful looking radiance. This clear
multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a
lasting satin finish.

As the drill goes, let’s begin with the packaging… as always. 🙂 ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer comes in a dual-layer plastic container that’s very sturdy, classy and lightweight at the same time. For a budget-friendly product, ELF packaging definitely doesn’t look cheap. The clear plastic cap covers the pump that is used to dispense the product. It locks rather securely too. The pump dispenses quite a small amount of product each time but don’t be mislead by this for a small amount is enough to cover the entire face and neck area.
ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer is a scentless, gel-type primer that is very light and almost watery on the skin. It glides on smoothly and effortlessly too! It creates a smooth velvety smooth barrier between the skin and makeup to prevent breakout and at the same time, it fills in pores and lines for a more even canvas. Though compared to L’oreal Magic Perfecting Base Primer (Read review HERE), ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer doesn’t fill in the crevices and blur out imperfections as much especially around the eye area. But the texture of the face post application is almost the same for the two products.
It delivers amazing result granted that it only costs less than Php 500. For something that cheap, I really didn’t expect much. Surprisingly, in terms of makeup longevity, not only did ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer meet my expectation but it actually outdid it. It helps control oiliness and shine thus minimizing the need for retouch throughout the day. And as the day reaches its end, I could still see a hint of the BB cream or whatever face product I applied more than 8 hours ago. I’m really surprised how well this products turns out to be.. well, there could be a possibility that I was expecting too little from this that’s why when it delivered results that are at par with other products, I was super happy. Do you know that feeling? It’s like you’re preparing for something bad but instead you get something worthwhile? 🙂
Overall, I honestly think ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer is a great option for those who are not comfortable in spending too much on makeup but still wants to get the result of slightly more expensive primers. In terms of texture and makeup longevity, I would say that ELF Mineral Infused Face Primer is a decent substitute for more expensive primers that have been raved by other bloggers. I think I’ll try my luck with Smashbox Photofinish Pimer next, then I’ll do a detailed comparison. 😉
Now this is definitely another ELF product to add on my fave list.
