Anyway, before I start reading another book as per Kim’s recommendation, I decided to share some of my recent finds with you. As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been cray cray with blushes lately, and these ELF Studio Baked Blush and Highlighter are just some of my new finds. Oh, you might want to check out my review on the ELF Studio HD Blushes as well. 🙂
I’m finally back from my mini-hiatus/imposed rest! I’ve been reading Divergent series (again) the past few days and there’s that risk I take when I get too engrossed with a book. It has the tendency to consume me. I barely eat until I finish my current read; let alone be able to blog. I get too caught up with what I’m reading that I totally forget about everything else. Good thing I’m a fast reader. Else, I’ll be stuck at home forever just to finish a book. Haha!

Baked in an oven, these blushes offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting formula provides a gorgeous, smooth and even application. Infused with active key ingredients Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to nourish and hydrate the skin. Apply this shimmering color dry for sheer pigmentation, or use a damp brush or sponge for a more vibrant effect.
Pink Diamond is a light pink highlighter with pearl white shimmers. The shade is not only an effective highlighter but it also gives a subtle rosy glow that is beautiful on those with fairer, paler skin.
One thing about baked highlighters and blushes with glitters is that they tend to be quite powdery, or even chalky at some cases. It’s a bit messy to use because the product goes everywhere when applied with a brush. And it’s probably due to the shimmers, but it does feel grainy when applied. More on the case of Pink Diamond than for Rich Rose because the glitters are bigger.
Rich Rose, on the other hand, is a bevy of warm earth tone shades. Majority of it is a medium brown tone with a cluster of fiery red and orange mix. The combination of which creates a lovely warm bronze glow to the skin. This looks insanely flattering on my morena skin. When applied with a light hand, it looks very natural and radiant.
As much I like these ELF Studio Baked Blush & Highlighter, I strongly discourage those with oily skin from using/purchasing these. The shades are beautiful, yes. But the sheer volume of the shimmers in both shades have the propensity to emphasize oiliness. It attracts attention to enlarged pores, and I’m sure it’s not something you want people to notice about your face, right?
Despite their texture, they are still impressively pigmented. They offer great color payoff without having to layer on too much product. Although I wish their staying power was as remarkable. Both shades only last for 3-4 hours so if I wish to keep my “glow” throughout the day, I have to retouch 2-3 times. But I guess that’s not too bad considering how gorgeous and affordable these are. <3
