I already warned you, didn’t I? 🙂 Here’s another review on one of the products from Godiva’s newest line that uses licorice root extract that has an active ingredient called glabridin that’s widely recognized all over the world as the most potent, naturally-derived whitening ingredient.
Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Facial Cream
helps even out skin discolorations caused by age, scarring, pregnancy or overexposure to the sun. It is 100% fragrance free and is safe for continued use for longer-lasting whiter skin.
Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Facial Cream comes in an average-sized, easy-squeeze plastic tube that is very efficient for travel because it’s relatively slimmer compared to other facial cream tubes. The design and prints are glossy too. Meaning, it doesn’t look worn out and battered quickly like other facial creams. The packaging always looks brand new to me! 🙂
This facial cream is not an exemption to the general herbal smell of this skincare range. It has exactly the same faint scent as the Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion (Read review HERE)
only this one is milder in a way. Inside the packaging is the thick and heavy white cream. Surprisingly, it’s still very fluid allowing it glide on rather smoothly on my skin. Therefore allowing me to spread it evenly with ease and without actually pulling the skin too much – tugging on the skin could cause pre-mature wrinkles!
As I mentioned above, Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Facial Cream is a bit heavy in consistency which makes it harder for the skin to really soak in the goodness.
However, it’s nice that it doesn’t clog my pores and cause breakout
. It also doesn’t stick on my pillow when I lay down on my bed immediately after application. Yeah, it’s tad oily at first but it’s not a dust-magnet, if you know what I mean. 🙂
It makes the face shiny after applying but once everything is fully absorbed (takes about 5 minutes, more or less), the shine goes away completely and so does the heavy feeling. The skin becomes soft, supple and hydrated especially the morning after! Most importantly, using this Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Facial Cream for almost 2 months did make my skin appear brighter and my blemishes less visible.
Overall, I would generally recommend Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Facial Cream to those with extremely dry to dry skin type because it’s highly moisturizing. However, if you have combination skin type that’s leaning more on the oily side, I strongly feel that this wouldn’t be the one for you. Like I said, it is somewhat heavy on the skin and I don’t think oily skin can really tolerate it.
Based solely from my experience with all the Godiva LicoWhite range, I think the face products (facial wash, toner and cream) are more effective than the body product (soap, lotion and deo) in terms of the skin whitening. The result isn’t drastic after finishing a whole container of course but it was there – for the face products, at least.
Have you tried anything from Godiva’s newest line? Do you have the same sentiments?
Let me know what you think and I’ll see you on my next post. 🙂
