You have no idea how fast I go through my lotion stash. It’s like I eat them or something! I really don’t understand how I finish a bottle like the one below in just 2 weeks – I’m the only one in our household that uses lotion so I’m pretty sure no one else is using my stuff. o.0 Anyway, here’s a quick review on one that I recently emptied – Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion with SPF15. And in recently I mean last week.. I just didn’t have time to blog about it then. πŸ™‚

Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion with SPF15 helps even out skin discolorations caused by age, scarring and pregnancy. It provides sun protection as it moisturizes to keep skin soft and smooth. Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion with SPF15 contains Glabridin, a powerful skin whitening ingredient from licorice extract that is both effective and gentle to the skin. It is safe for continued use for longer-lasting whiter skin.
Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion comes in a typical plastic lotion bottle that’s pretty thick and sturdy. Although this is slimmer than ordinary lotion bottles which allows it to fit in almost any travel pack. The cap doesn’t easily open when dropped so that’s a plus – especially for a klutz like me. The overall olive green design goes really well with the ‘au naturele’ concept.
What I particularly like about this lotion is that it applies thinly and is easily absorbed by the skin. Thus leaving the skin very smooth. I used most of this during the last week of summer and fortunately, it didn’t feel icky and greasy even when I sweat a lot. It’s really light on the skin regardless of the weather. Also, it has a faint “leafy” scent to it that’s very refreshing and not at all overpowering in any degree. The smell stays on for a whole hour too! πŸ˜€
I was pleasantly surprised how Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion was able to hydrate my skin despite all its whitening properties. Although I would really like to see them improve the SPF level. I just think SPF 15 is too low given our country’s weather.
Godiva prides itself for the unique ingredient in their new Natural Skin Care LicoWhite range. What is it exactly? Licorice or Glycyrrhiza glabra, an extraordinary active ingredient derived from nature that’s widely used commercially as a sweetening agent. It inhibits the production of melanin and the same time nourishes and protects the skin due to its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Thus making it one of the most effective commercially available skin whiteners.
However, I cannot fully evaluate Godiva LicoWhite Whitening Lotion’s effectiveness in terms of skin whitening with just this small bottle. Skin whitening takes a long period of time and as some of you might know, it’s always a work in progress that needs to be maintained. But I’m confident that with continuous long-term use, this could help lighten skin color. Anyway, I’m not in a hurry to get whiter skin and I really don’t mind using this – I actually like this. πŸ™‚
