I’ve tried a lot of skincare products. Most of them are commercially available in drugstores. So this the first time I used medicated ( as in with strong chemicals ) skincare products.
After reading all sorts of raves and rants from different blog reviews about LOCAL OBAGI, I decided to try it out myself.
Quick History: My skin is not overly sensitive and I seldom get pimples but when I do get pimples, it most always leaves a mark. The marks diminishes over time but I was hoping the peeling would remove whatever mark is left faster. I have a normal skin type so I can use pretty much any skincare products available.
Local Obagi from YourBoutique Onlineshop on Facebook.
I forgot to included the Kojic Soap.. LOL! πŸ™‚
(Photo from the seller’s page)

I really like the seller, Lyra. She answers inquiries about the product even after I purchased the set.
The seller is genuinely concerned about her clients.
Unlike other sellers.. they don’t entertain questions once the payments have been made.

The set includes:
  • Instruction Guide

Instructions:
During the evening,
  1. Clean the face and neck area with toner using cotton. (This is done before washing the face because washing can close the pores without removing the dirt first)
  2. Wash face with Kojic soap.
  3. Using cotton, apply astringent in upward strokes.
  4. Apply enough amount of Exfoliating Cream. Do not rinse.
  5. After 15 minutes, apply Bleaching cream overnight.
In the morning,
  1. Rub face with ice. (this is to remove the cream from last night and close pores while lifting dead skin cells)
  2. Wash face with Kojic soap.
  3. Apply toner to eliminate soap residues.
  4. Apply generous amount of unblock foundation.
** I’ve been using this for 2 weeks now and yes, this routine is more tedious than my normal skincare routine.
  • Kojic Acid Soap
There is nothing special about their soap. Same as any other Kojic soaps sold in the market.. same effect and almost the same price (if you disregard the shipping fee).
  • Pink Clarifying Toner 60mL

This toner reminds me of Pond’s white beauty pore conditioning toner.

  • Medicated Astringent 60mL

This is actually a great product. It picks up remaining dirt even after using the toner and washing my face.
But the chemicals in it are a bit stronger for my taste.

  • Skin Exfoliating Cream 10g

When the instruction said there will be a stinging sensation once the peeling starts I didn’t think it would feel like my entire face was burning. I’m not exaggerating, I swear it hurts during the peeling stage. But after the peeling, about 3-4 days, it doesn’t hurt anymore. πŸ™‚

The cream is white but it doesn’t look ghastly when applied. It also has tiny beads like in scrubs.
  • Bleaching Cream 4-in-1 10g

I totally love the smell of the bleaching cream. It doesn’t smell like harsh chemicals instead the smell is somehow sweet.
I suck at describing smells. πŸ™‚

  • Sunblock Foundation

Okay, this is my favorite. I don’t have to apply makeup because it looks natural and it gives me the glowing feel. The smell is not as good as the bleaching cream though. πŸ™‚

Also the color blends in nicely so it can be used as a makeup base. If only I can buy this cream separately. πŸ™‚

This is a lot cheaper than other Local Obagi that are sold online. (Maybe because it is smaller than other’s but this will be good if you just want to try it out first) This set costs Php365.
My Experience:

My face did get whiter after the peeling so that’s a plus. The peeling hurts like hell though.
I did get few pimples when I started using this product. And there was also some kinda rashes on my left cheek.. but its gone now. πŸ™‚
In the end, it did remove my OLD pimple marks but it left NEW pimple marks that are more visible than the ones I had before.

My Verdict:

Buy Again: NO. There are more products I can try. πŸ™‚
