As makeup enthusiasts, we all crave to get our hands on MAC lipsticks, but obviously, not everyone can.. for practical reasons. I mean, why would you spend P1,000+ on a lipstick if a P300 dupe is available and easily accessible, right? Yes, finally Maybelline has released a lipstick line that allows budget-restricted women to experience MAC-inspired shades at a fraction of the cost!

As the name suggests, the Maybelline Creamy Matte offers a beautifully matte finish, but since it is infused with nourishing honey nectar ingredient, it is not as drying on the lips. Unlike most matte MAC lipsticks, it has a creamier consistency thus allowing it to glide on the lips smoothly.

The Maybelline Creamy Matte doesn’t fall far behind the MAC lipsticks when it comes to wear time, too. It stays on for 5-6 hours, and I only need to retouch 1-2x throughout the day. In terms of pigmentation, I could honestly say that this Maybelline range is at par with their MAC counterparts. I get intensely opaque color payoff with every swipe. The colors are just gorgeous and absolutely buildable.

From top to bottom: Maybelline Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice, Vibrant Violet, and Divine Wine.

Divine Wine (dupe for MAC Diva) is a reddish burgundy shade that instantly makes any look classy. This is the kind of dark lipstick that can be worn from day to night.

Vibrant Violet (dupe for MAC Heroine) is a bright violet shade with a slightly bluish undertone. It looks intimidating in the tube but it’s surprisingly easy to wear. This is by far the most wearable true violet shade I have in my collection. I’ve worn it a couple of times to events and it never fails to get me compliments from fellow beauty bloggers. *wink!

Touch of Spice (dupe for MAC Mehr) is a pinkish brown or mauve shade that easily compliments any skintone. I actually purchased MAC Mehr, which I will be reviewing soon, just to test if they are indeed the same shade. Guess what, I can’t even tell them apart once swatched!  This is my current go-to shade for work. I find myself using Maybelline Creamy Matte in Touch of Spice more than I use Mehr simply because it is creamier – like I said, it glides on smoothly. And because it’s affordable, I don’t feel bad using it for uneventful days. Haha.

Maybelline comes up new lipsticks every so often but I have to admit, I’m so impressed with this range. This is my absolute favorite from Maybelline so far. <3
