Maybelline Extreme Stiletto Mascara gave “waterproof” a whole new meaning. I’ve been wearing this a lot for the past couple of weeks and I noticed that after I had my regular facial, it didn’t smear even one bit. Even my toughest waterproof mascara smudges ever-so slightly when I get my facial so I always ask for extra tissue after to swipe it off when I head to the powder room as always. But not this one – it withstood the cleansing, steaming and even the tearing (a.k.a pricking) phase. It’s that badass! Okay, I think that’s too much for an introductory paragraph.. I don’t want to preempt the review proper so I’ll shut up now. ๐Ÿ™‚
Product Description:

The hottest thing lashes will ever wear. The mascara that does for lashes what stilettos do for legs. Grip & Extend brush grasps each lash and coats from every angle, elastic formula stretches lashes for provocative length, Pro-Vitamin B-5 formula conditions and smoothes for black-patent shine, contact lens safe and ophthalmologist-tested.
At first, I didn’t realize that the shape of the mascara tube itself was patterned after a stiletto. For a shoe lover like myself, I don’t know how that idea didn’t occur to me the moment I first saw this mascara. The black and metallic red combination gives the sultry yet elegant feel pretty much like wearing stilettos – very empowering, I might add. Overall, I’ve grown very fond of the lightweight but durable packaging of the Maybelline Extreme Stiletto Mascara. It takes quite a lot of space in my makeup kit but I like it, still. ๐Ÿ™‚
It comes with a narrow wand that’s great for applying mascara on the corner and even on the bottom lashes. I have very short bottom lashes so finding a spoolie wand that doesn’t create that much mess is a big deal for me. Also the bristles are dense and closely placed to each other so as to build the lash length without being clumpy. However, the wand tends to pick too much product on its tip so do make sure to wipe off the excess first before application.
As for the formulation, I think Maybelline Extreme Stiletto Mascara found the line between being too dry and too watery. It’s easy to apply, layer on and still dries fairly quickly, too. As far as I can remember, I haven’t had any problem with this messing up my makeup when I blink too hard after application. I just wish the product itself in the tube doesn’t dry out as quickly, though. I’ve been using this for a little more than a month and I can already feel the bottom part drying up. Boohoo!
Let’s see how Maybelline Extreme Stiletto Mascara works.
With just one layer, Maybelline Extreme Stiletto Mascara was able to give incredible length and a bit of volume. It still lacks on the volumizing department, though. In any case, I like how the lashes are still defined and not clumped into several lumps. It holds the curl nicely, too, as it doesn’t weigh down the lashes. It’s absolutely waterproof. It doesn’t smudge, smear or even flake off after an entire day. Still, it’s very easy to remove with my forever favorite Bifesta Cleansing Lotion so that’s a definite plus for a lazy bum like me. ๐Ÿ™‚
