People normally equate dehydrated skin to dry skin. Well, would you believe me when I say even oily skin can be dehydrated? No kidding! I’ve been reading a lot of articles about skincare on and offline and that’s one of the most surprising facts I came across. Worst thing is, dehydrated skin is the likely cause for premature aging, scaly skin, superficial lines and who would forget ACNE! Eeek.
Suffice to say that after learning about such facts, I hurriedly scouted the market for a product that would maintain and restore my skin’s natural moisture. And by accident, I came across Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser. And guess what?! I got this one for FREE! Apparently, SM Megamall was having a promo (Free Mousse Cleanser for every purchase of their Hydro Boost Water Gel) that day. *lucky me
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser (Php 445 for 150 mL) is contained
in a no-spill blue plastic bottle with a white pump. It’s great that it comes
with a pump that dispenses a fair amount of product per pump. However, I find
myself using an extra pump every time I use it just to make sure it covers my
entire face. I just wish the cap that covers the pump locks more securely as
it tends to pop right off when I place it in my bag.

I’m really fascinated by the fact that inside the bottle the product is pure liquid in consistency but once dispensed; the pump-thingy
turns it into a foamy mousse. Awesome!
It has a mild soapy smell that is quite
tolerable. It’s lather-rich and it doesn’t sting at all. Though I noticed, at
some point, that it takes longer to rinse off than normal facial washes.

Though
foam cleansers like Etude House AC Clinic facial wash are notorious for being
overly drying, this one definitely defies that connotation as it leaves my skin
feeling smooth and supple without the tightness. It’s very refreshing to use! I
normally wash my face 3-4 times a day. Imagine how drying that can be. But with
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser, I can freely wash my face whenever I
please without the fear of the product stripping my face’s natural moisture.
I would not hesitate to recommend this to everyone BUT of
course with certain restrictions. If you’re the type of girl who wears makeup
in a daily basis like me, never skip makeup remover before washing your face because
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mousse Cleanser is not made to remove stubborn makeup
residue. Also, if you have an acne-prone skin, this certain product might not
be strong enough to stop the
breakout. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this to be able to cleanse the
face as often as possible without dehydrating their skin.
So tell me, are you sure your skin isn’t dehydrated? 🙂
