Summer is the best time to wear bold shades – bright pinks go so well with any summer outfit! <3 Plus, no one would care, really. It’s our time to be young, fun and crazy and that’s just what Revlon’s new ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms are. Yeah, I’ve been using a lot of Revlon products lately and I ain’t even sorry because their new products are great! Maybe I should start theme weeks; this week could be mostly Revlon products then next week would be a whole lot of Colour Collection products from their last event. Watchu think? πŸ˜€
Product Description:

Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm. A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, craveable colors.
Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms are housed in little crayon-like tubes with the twist-thingy on the bottom to push the product out much like their Just Bitten Lip Stains before. What I really like about the packaging, aside from being cute, is that it is slimmer than regular lipsticks so it’s easier to control and shape the lips with their pointed tip. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms have this distinct peppermint scent but no tingly sensation when applied.
Unlike most matte lipsticks, Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm glides on the lips incredibly smoothly – like butter on a pan! They are said to contain a triple complex of Mango, Shea, and Coconut Butter to moisturize the lips all throughout wear time. True enough, they really are moisturizing to the lips! I can wear matte shades everyday without worrying about cracked lips.
They offers satin-matte finish and varying opacity – the darker shades have better color payoff, the color is opaque even with just one stroke whereas you’ll need more layers to really get the shade you want with the light ones. It has a slight sheen at first but it eventually fades off. I noticed that in the case of Complex, it can become a bit streaky when more than one layer is applied. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms also have the tendency to settle into and accentuate dry cracks and crevices, too. I suggest exfoliating the lips prior wear and using a lip brush to even out the color in such cases.
The staying power of these lovely lip colors is rather very impressive. I can wear them for hours provided that I don’t eat greasy food. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm doesn’t bleed or feather out. However, the color becomes uneven after a while and that’s the only time I feel the need to retouch.
215 Shameless is a medium dark purple with a bit of pink tone when applied lightly. 240 Striking is a warm rosy red shade that looks a bit brick red when layered on. 220 Showy is a bright blue-based Barbie pink shade. 225 Sultry is a brown-pink color that is great for everyday wear especially if you have dark lips like me. 205 Elusive, my top favorite, is a warm-toned pink that suits my yellow undertone really well. Completely opposite to all those bright shades, 230 Complex is a peach-toned nude shade that’s very forgiving and easy to pull off. πŸ™‚

Here are some of my personal favorites. See how lipstick can totally change the overall look? I could go from punk rock to girly to demure with just my Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms. Shameless looks amazingly badass when layered on! So cool, right? <3
