With recent events, I’m starting to really believe in the law of attraction. Take this Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup for example. This has been on my wishlist since last year but I never bought it because I have a lot of untouched foundations that are still waiting to be reviewed. I had to have extreme self-control whenever I pass by Revlon counters in malls just so I won’t unleash the shopaholic in me. HAHA. I’ve read so much great reviews about this that I finally decided to give in but just when I was about to purchase it online, a package from Eman De Leon, Revlon’s resident makeup artist, came to my doorsteps. To tell you that I was excited was an obvious understatement. I was ecstatic!
Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup.
Finally, truly decadent makeup offers ultimate performance. The mousse-like texture feels like silk on your skin and the time release formula balances skin for a flawless look. All-day, flexible wear without flaking, caking, or feeling heavy.
Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme is housed in a hefty, glass jar that’s too heavy, IMHO. It looks very high-end and all but this makes it unsuitable for travelling. Believe me, as much as I love this product – I won’t bring it with me anywhere. Although, it might be a good idea to transfer some in a small container for out-of-town trips. 🙂
As the name suggests, it has a whipped and bouncy consistency – thicker than liquid foundation but not as thick as cream foundation. Given its consistency, I personally prefer using a dampened sponge with this. I like how easy it is to blend and layer on without streaks or patches. Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme has a nice silky finish on the skin that feels very light. It offers medium to heavy coverage as it is quite buildable. With a second layer, this doubles up as my concealer for most occasions. 🙂
The shade 200 Sand Beige
looks a tad lighter when swatched on my arm but this shade actually matches my skin tone perfectly. This is why it’s always best to swatch the foundation on your jaw line and NOT on your arms when deciding which shade to buy. The foundation naturally oxidizes after half an hour which makes it slightly darker than when originally applied but since I also use a white translucent powder after the foundation and setting powder, it kinda balances everything out. There is no drastic change in color even after a few hours. It is, however, important to note that I don’t have acidic skin. So the case maybe different for those who are acidic.
The best thing about Revlon ColorStay Whipped Creme is its staying power. One word: AMAZING! No wonder people are raving about this online! I just love how it latches on my skin and stays there for hours without retouching. It doesn’t cake at all – even when I sweat! This foundation can withstand almost anything, even a heated discussion along the sides of the road. HAHA.
The FOTD photo above was taken before heading to the Forever21xPhFW event last week (more about this on another post). The car I was driving was hit by a truck which led to a lengthy – and sweaty – discussion about the damages. Mind you, I was shouting hysterically along the road for half an hour all sweaty and all but my makeup did not more at all. I was still able to attend the event with great makeup on.. as if nothing happened. 😉
