Few month ago, I was feeling kinda depressed with a hint of self-pity on the side. It was nothing major though so I decided to just buy myself loads of lipsticks to get my mind off it – I also figured that I didn’t have enough lipsticks that time. Long story short, I ended up buying more than 15 tubes of lipsticks that month alone. Now I have no idea how to finish them all. LOL! If you feel that I’ve been posting too much lip product reviews, well now you know why I have so many. *wink

The way I see it, lipsticks are the best and quickest “pick me up” tool there is and a girl – especially girly girls like myself – can never have enough of it. Err.. maybe they can but you get my exaggerated point. πŸ˜€

The lot of Revlon lipsticks I purchased has 2 ColorBurst (Read review HERE), 4 Super Lustrous and 1 Moon Drops lipsticks. The last one is slightly damaged so I don’t really feel like blogging about that particular one. Anyway, amongst the 4 Super Lustrous lipsticks, one is matte. Let me start with that one. πŸ™‚
Revlon Super Lustrous Matte in 007 In The Red

007 In The Red is a classic brick red shade that has neither too blue nor too orange base. It is somewhat neutral and a bit deeper, almost burgundy, when swatched – the color is truly flattering. Again, it has a matte finish which makes it last significantly longer (4-5 hours) compared to the following 3 shades that have shiny finishes. It’s a slightly hard and doesn’t glide on as smoothly as creamy/glossy lipsticks. This Revlon Matte lipstick is a bit drying and has the tendency to feather out when worn without lip balm. But it has great color payoff, amazing staying power for a drugstore brand and is very forgiving when it comes to lines and crevices as it doesn’t usually settle on those. Taking both the good and the bad, Revlon Matte lipstick, for me, is still worth buying. πŸ™‚
Moving on to the Creme ones…

Revlon Super Lustrous in 654 Ravish Me Red
654 Ravish Me Red is a bright red shade that is too orange for my taste. I think this will suit girl with fairer skin (NC30 or lighter) especially during summer. It’s the perfect mix between coral and red so if you’re not sure which of the two you like better, you’ll absolutely love this shade.
Revlon Super Lustrous in 677 Siren
677 Siren is this gorgeous coral shade that isn’t too bold when worn. The color may look intimidating at first but in the contrary, it’s totally wearable and would need very minimal effort to pull off. I’ve had my fair share with coral lip colors but nothing seemed right for me so I kinda quit on the thought of wearing orange on my lips for a while.. until this baby came along. And hey, this shade would look great this summer!
Revlon SuperLustrous in 622 Daring Pink
622 Daring Pink looks pink when swatched but when worn, I feel like it’s more of a light plum or berry red shade than a pink, really. The color isn’t even “daring” to any extent. The shade name is a bit misleading since I honestly use this as my everyday lip color. My lips have this dark outer rim so a slightly darker than normal lip color is needed to mask that. And this shade fits the bill perfectly. It’s somehow darker but it isn’t completely opaque so it will do.
All 3 Super Lustrous Creme Lipsticks are very moist and easy to apply as they glide on smoothly. They all have a slight glossy/shiny finish though it’s more noticeable for 622 Daring Pink than the other two. As for the color pay off, they’re not as good as the matte on but they’re still very pigmented. They last a good 2-3 hours without heavy eating and are very moisturizing as well. 654 Ravish has a bit of weird smell to it although I’m not sure if it’s the formulation of the lipstick or what I got was an old stock.. I try to look pass it though simply because I like the color. <3
SWATCHES:

Overall, I’d say that Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks are definitely worth buying. I mean, for a drugstore brand, they’re really amazing as they push the bar a bit higher for other drugstore brands. They’re more expensive here though so I might buy them from the US instead and have everything shipped here all at the same time when I’m able to cross out everything on my “to buy” list.. or I could also wait for them to go on sale. LOL! I’m super kuripot like that. πŸ˜›
