Now that I’ve finally entered the corporate world, concealer has become more and more of a necessity for me. Especially since I commute back and forth Makati-Laguna on a daily basis. I’d be lucky to get 4-5 hours of sleep during the weekday. I can’t wait to move closer to the office to cut my travel time from 3 hours to, hopefully, 5 minutes every morning. But until then, I’ll have to rely on concealer to make it look as if I have slept for more than 7 hours.
Product Description:
(Taken from www.shiseido.com)
An incredible concealer that melts into skin and blends effortlessly to cover any flaws for a complexion that looks naturally perfect. Contains Reflect and Fit Powder that effortlessly camouflages the appearance of all types of discoloration without fading or creasing.
My previous concealer routine involved two concealers: Etude House Surprise Concealer that was a shade lighter to brighten up my undereye area, and MAC Mineralized Concealer to help blend the color from the previous concealer with my skintone. And of course, I set it with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Face Powder to improve its longevity. I’ve noticed that this routine has made the concealer look seamless, and it also doubles as semi-highlights.
This routine have been very effective for me that I stuck with it for more than half a year. This has worked for me up until recently. Given the time constraint I have to deal with every morning, I had to find a faster way to do my concealer. Along came my current HG concealer, the Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer.
The Shiseido Concealer is in a stick, cream form that is housed in a dark metallic twist-tube packaging. The packaging is sleek and simple, like all other Shiseido products. It is as travel-efficient as it is easy to use.
Shiseido Perfecting Stick Concealer comes in 6 shades. The shade 33 is a perfect match to my skin tone so there’s no need to mix and match a couple of concealers to achieve the perfect blend. I usually prefer liquid concealer because I find cream ones to be a bit too heavy for my liking. But that wasn’t the case for the Shiseido Concealer. It glides on like butter on a pan; it’s smooth and creamy, just how I like it! It isn’t as heavy as most cream concealers, too, so it doesn’t settle in fine lines (which I have tons of, btw) under the eyes as much. Don’t get me wrong, it does crease and settle after a few hours but not as noticeable as you may think, especially when set properly.
Another thing I like about this Shiseido Concealer is the coverage. It surely won’t disappoint you in that category. With just one layer, it is able to fully cover my dark circles so I never felt the need to build the coverage with multiple layers. Given the thick consistency and opaque finish of the cream, I prefer using a sponge to properly blend and even out the concealer. It takes half the time to do compared to my previous three-step concealer routine. Infused with Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE, it is as long lasting as it is hydrating. Click photo to enlarge.
Except for the slightly hefty price tag, there is nothing to complain about this concealer. Well, what do you expect; it is Shiseido after all. And the price is definitely well-justified by its performance. I’ve always loved Shiseido’s skincare products, but I guess this HG concealer has just opened up a whole new addiction for me, haha!
Shiseido recently launched a new brand called Maquillage which I have been obsessing over ever since I started working.. so here’s a quick FOTD to serve as a teaser for what’s to come. Teehee.
