Happy Saturday ladies! Today is officially the start of my semestral break and what better way to kick off my weeks of bumming at home than writing backlogs. I have tons of stuff to share with you. Actually, I have 3 events posts and several product reviews lined up for this week. Let’s start with yet another BB Cream, shall we? 🙂
Product Description:
(Taken from www.kollectionk.com)
Attaches & sustains well, this BB cream alone performs outstandingly with natural glow and livelihood to the skin, and creates thin makeup layer to prevent dehydration, keeping skin moist for longer hours, Containing evenly dissolved organic & inorganic UV ray protector, it blocks UV rays(UVA, UAB) for a longer time, with skin caring extracts & derivatives protecting skin from harmful environment.
Too Cool For School is a relatively new Korean brand contender who recently entered the Philippine market. I’ve been to their store in SM Mall of Asia and let me tell you this much, their theme is definitely unlike any other Korean stuff you’ve seen! I mean, when we say Korean products, the first thing that comes to mind is either pink, girly or kawaii, right? Not TCFS. Their store was filled with doll parts and other weird stuff. It’s actually very odd, slightly creepy but still very interesting, indeed. It makes me wanna try their products out of sheer curiosity.

TCFS After School BB Foundation Lunch Box comes in this rather bulky, compartmentalized packaging. On the top section, it has the concealer, highlighter and of course, a mirror on the lid. Below is the BB foundation. I like idea of having almost everything I need in one hefty product but I’m really not fond of the packaging as a whole. Again, it is bulky so I can’t bring it with me all the time. It’s heavy too but what I dislike most about the packaging is the spatula that comes with the BB foundation.

Ideally, it is used to scrape the inside of the bottle but given the girth size of the bottle and the size of the spatula, I doubt if it could reach the sides of the bottles. Personally, I prefer squeeze-tube packaging for BB creams. But then again, thumbs up for the cool idea of putting the 3 products in one packaging. 🙂

As for the shade, unfortunately, it only comes in 2: #1 matte and #2 moist. The names suggest the finish the BB foundation supposedly offers but the swatches available online shows that #2 is darker so I picked the latter just to be safe. You know how fair Korean BB creams tend to be.

The concealer has got to be my favorite part in this trio. It is very creamy and it glides smoothly without tugging. It’s medium beige shade with neutral – slightly leaning more to pink – undertone and offers decent coverage. It doesn’t sink in to lines and nooks which is great because I have the worst lines under my eyes like you won’t imagine. Just set it properly and I swear it would stay on. 😉

As for the highlighter, it isn’t as creamy as the former but still very easy to apply. It has the iridescent glow that reminds me of crushed pearls of some sort. I like how it isn’t gritty nor filled with huge chunks of glitters that would make me look like a walking disco ball. It has the tendency to cake so remember to apply it moderately. 🙂

TIP: Using a teeny tiny amount of highlighter, lightly dab it on the apples of your cheeks and a straight line on the center of your nose to highlight it. Slightly blend it using your clean fingers to make it look natural. Again, don’t apply to much!

Now for the main event – the BB Foundation. See what I mean about the spatula? Consistency-wise, it is quite thick, almost like a mousse. It is definitely richer than your typical Korean BB cream hence the name, BB Foundation. It’s thick, yes, but still easy to blend and even out. In terms of shade, I still think it is too fair for my morena skintone. Plus the pink undertone doesn’t really suit me. If you have NC20-25 skintone, I think you’ll appreciate this even more. 🙂
It has medium to heavy coverage although I have to warn you, building up the coverage also means creating hideous white cast. Given that it has a high SPF of 37 PA++, a white cast for flash photography is to be expected anyway. It has a faint smell that isn’t overpowering at any rate. The thing I like most for the BB foundation is the finish. It gives a very healthy, dewy finish which I’m totally digging right now. *wink!

I wore this everyday last week and I noticed that it was able to stay on without disappearing for a good 4 hours. After that benchmark, everything starts fading. The highlighter has the shortest wear time among the three but still enough for quick errands and even to school. I’d like to think that this is made for those with normal to dry skintone because in terms of oil control, it isn’t very impressive. I have combination oily skin but this still works for me – I just have to blot and retouch every once in a while.

Overall, I’d give this TCFS After School BB Foundation Lunch Box a thumbs up. It’s reasonably priced for 3 products in one packaging, it has decent coverage, staying power and it didn’t cause any breakouts. 🙂
