I’ve always been addicted to online shopping. Just think about the time you save! But now that I’m a blogger, I admit, I shop a little less thanks to my makeup fairies who are mostly shop owners. So whenever I can, I patronize their shops by purchasing from their shops even if cheaper alternatives are available. That’s my way of saying ‘Thank You’ actually. But this particular case is out of the ordinary.
I bought this Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencil Stash from Fabshopaholic NOT because Ate Myla is my sponsor. I opted to buy it from her simply because most of the products she’s selling are unbelievably affordable! This set retails at $34 in the US or roughly around Php 1500 (plus taxes and other customs duty). Can you guess how much it cost me? Php 950!! That freakin’ cheap!

I heard from a little bird that Fabshopaholic will be stocking up with the latest Urban Decay products so keep checking their page for affordable finds! 😀

Big and blendable, this 2-in-1 waterproof 24/7 shadow pencil keeps going as long as you do. Our next generation of famous 24/7 pencils can be used as eyeshadow, eyeliner, or both!
|L-R: Delinquent, Rehab, Juju, Sin & Clash.|
Delinquent is a dark jewel-toned purple with lighter sparkle.
Rehab is a dark chocolate brown shade with subtle brown shimmer. Best for everyday look!
Juju looks a lot like Rehab from the pictures but once swatched, you’d see that it’s actually a light taupe color with brown shimmer. It’s a tad lighter than Rehab.
Sin is a pale pinkish beige shade with champagne shimmer. Great for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes.
Lastly, Clash is obviously is brilliant electric blue color with silvery shimmer. Perfect for adding a pop of color to any neutral look.
With these multi-purpose, travel-friendly shadow pencils from Urban Decay, all I have to do in the morning is to dust powder and blush on my face, define my brows, sweep my favorite brown shade (Rehab) on my lids, curl my lashes and I’m good to go! It cuts 10-15 minutes of my usual makeup routine since I no longer have to look for a clean brush, apply primer and blend my brown eyeshadow.
Yes, with these babies, I can skip primer because the colors stay vibrant and unmoved all day long.
I also found another use for these! Because of their creamy texture which allow them to glide right through without tugging, they can also be used as an eyeshadow base. I tried applying it on my ring finger (not directly to the lids because they dry faster than you can say ‘makeup remover’ LOL!) and immediately dabbing it on my lids to even out the color. After which, I used my Naked Palette to create a neutral smoke eye EOTD which I normally do for special days — like monthsaries.. Ehem! 8th of the month again. *wink LOL!
Using a creamy-textured base makes it last significantly longer — I’m talking about 3-4 hours longer without primer! because the tendency is for the powder eyeshadow to adhere to the cream base.
Gone are the days when I have to retouch my eyeliner 3-5 times a day for these pencils stayed true to their name — 24/7. Unlike with my Ever Bilena Liquid Eyeliner which cracks and crumbles after several hours, these bad boys works overtime! No need to fix my eye liner during the afternoon. 🙂
The only thing I don’t like about these pencils is that, after applying them, they dry up really really fast. Making it impossible to blend. There’s actually a positive side to that. That is, it never creates a mess or leaves a mark on the crease area when you open your eyes really wide right after applying it. Don’t you just hate it when that happens? That’s what usually happens to me with liquid liners and thick mascaras. So I’ll have to redo the entire eye makeup when that happens.
Oh well! Good thing, that doesn’t happen with these pencils. 😀
|Take Note: I rubbed them while letting the water run.|
So everything boils down to this;
I recommend this to girls who are new to makeup, to those who have little time in the morning to actually do their makeup and especially to working girls who are forced by some company policy to wear makeup to look professional while dealing with clients — Ehem! Angie, dear friend, if you’re reading this, do know that I’m referring to you. LOL!
On the other hand, I would NOT recommend this to makeup junkies who are trying to create the perfect smokey eye look since the color dries up fast… making it impossible to blend.
This is actually my second Urban Decay set. First was the Naked Palette I bought from Skye Avenue 2 months ago. I have to say, I’m loving the brand! Will definitely buy more UD products soon.
If I can give THREE THUMBS up for this product, I definitely would. LOL!
Have you tried any Urban Decay product before? What do you think? 🙂
