During the first few months of the year, I admit, I was obsessed with mixing and changing my hairstyle every chance I could. I’ve colored it several times, had it rebonded, permed and then back to straight again. This caused my hair so much stress like you wouldn’t believe. So when I finally had a hair color that I’m willing to stick with for the coming months, to revive my dried up mane became my next ultimate goal.
To achieve this and as well as to retain my hair’s color courtesy of Status Hair Salon, I’ve been using these Vidal Sassoon products that I got from my September BDJ Box (Read more HERE) and Sample Room. I just love how these two “beauty authorities” complement each other.
Vidal Sassoon Premium Color Care Series contains specially formulated ingredients that help hair damage due to coloring, while retaining vibrant color and enhancing shine. Transparent Veil Technology
– helps repair visible hair damage due to coloring, retain vibrant color and enhance shine.
Let’s start with the 3-step daily hair routine.
Vidal Sassoon Shampoo and Conditioner Premium Color Care Series
(190mL – Php 199, 184mL, Php 199, respectively)
Both shampoo and conditioner are housed in a diamond-shaped tubes with varying degree of redness for you to know what’s what in the shower. I like how Vidal Sassoon attempts to differentiate their basic line from other brands with something as trivial as their choice of packaging. It’s simple but unique, I’ll give ’em that.
The shampoo is very fluid so a little really does go a long way. I use 2-3 pea size amount for everyday use and it really covers my thick, medium-length hair nicely. It foams and lathers really well, too, which I love. You know how people tell you to only shampoo your hair every other day so as to avoid the shampoo from further drying your hair? Well, it isn’t true in this case. Vidal Sassoon Premium Color Care shampoo removes the oiliness on my scalp without stripping my hair of its natural moisture. And yes, I still use it every day.
Vidal Sassoon Premium Color Care Treatment (169mL – Php 199)
The conditioner and the everyday hair treatment from the Premium Color Care line are also runny and light. Although not as thick as other deep conditioning treatments, they’re still rich in consistency. Thus, they’re easy to rinse off. I haven’t used one without the other so I can’t really assess what they’re meant to do individually. But together, they make my hair soft, shiny and very manageable. It looks healthy and bouncy too. Oh wait, they also did a great job in maintaining my hair color.
I know what you think, a 3-step process is a bit too much to do in a daily basis. Instead of my usual 30-minute shower before going to school, I now need 45 minutes or even more sometimes in the shower. But I’ll tell you as early as now, it’s totally worth it. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the whole hair care line. Sorry, I’m not sorry. 🙂
Moving on to the weekly and other special treatments.
When I have the time, I use intensive hair masks along with my usual facial masks when I feel the need to pamper myself a little bit. My hair has to indulge, too, every once in a while, you know. I personally prefer doing both at the same time for a complete “me time”. 🙂
Vidal Sassoon Intensive Hair Mask (Php 349, 178mL)
VS Intensive Hair Mask comes in in a hefty plastic tub. Unlike the conditioner and the treatment, this Intensive Hair Mask is incredibly rich and thick. It’s super convenient to use. I use a palm-full of product for my hair. I like massaging it on my scalp to really maximize its benefits. After that, I leave it on and securely cover my hair with a shower cap. Give it 20 to 30 minutes and viola! I get salon treated-like hair that’s super soft and tangle-free! I just love running my fingers through my hair after using this. Its sooo smooth and it smells fresh, too!
Vidal Sassoon Magic Style Activator (Php 349, 30mL)
My hair is at a very awkward length right now. In short, when I have to attend to important meetings or events, I really need to style the lower part using my Vidal Sassoon You Curl (Read my review HERE)
just to make it go the way I want it to. With all the previous hair treatments I had, I’m afraid this could trigger months’ worth of hair dryness, frizziness and damage.
Good thing I came to know this Magic Style Activator that works as a heat protectant. Its light on the hair, doesn’t make it look super shiny (Read: oil spill) and most importantly, it really does protect my hair. I’ve been using my VS You Curl more often than I would care for but to my surprise, my hair still isn’t dry. No dry and frizzy ends in sight!
Together this entire line up really did an amazing job for my hair. See how my hair color from Status Hair Salon using Igora Royal in 7-4 Medium Blonde Beige (Read more HERE)
turned reddish brown and made it look even more vibrant? You just gotta love the Vidal Sassoon haircare line. <3
P.S Don’t be surprised if I keep posting a lot of haircare products in the coming weeks. *wink!
