The thing about subscription boxes is that when it arrives, it feels like a gift from “past me” to “present me”. Psshh, it might as well have a note on it saying, “To: Me with love. From: Me” <3 I always get excited when the box comes and I make it to a point not to search #bdjbox on Instagram before I get my own box. I don’t want to ruin the surprise! Is it the same with everyone or it is just me? Haha. I guess I’m weird like that. #sorrynotsorry 😛
Now that you know that I’m bordering on crazy, let me just show you what’s inside this month’s BDJ Elite Box and get it over with. Haha
The September box has a theme, as always, but the contents are a bit random compared to the older boxes. I’ve seen most of the brands in their previous boxes, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing for me. Like in the case of the Bioderma Serum which was the focus for their June 2015 Bare Beautiful Skin and the TFS Cushion from their September 2015 Ber Month Beauty. Again, this isn’t a bad thing because these are products that I came to love – these are now staples in my makeup and skincare routine. In all honesty, I even bought 4 full-sized Bioderma products ever since I was introduced to the brand last year, all thanks to the BDJ Team.
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths (Php 225) – “Remove dirt and grime in a flash with Cetaphil’s Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths! Each cloth leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean without drying our or troubling your skin’s natural PH balance. Best of all, the whole pack is convenient and perfect for when you’re on-the-go.”
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blur Cream (50mL | Php 899) – “Prep your skin and achieve younger looking skin with L’oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blur Cream with Opti-Blur Technology that visibly blurs imperfections in an instant. The matte finish diffuses light and targets the signs of aging day after day.”
I totally swear by this product! It works great as a moisturizer and as a primer as well. I love how it fills the the lines and crevices of the face thus creating a smooth canvas as it allows makeup to glide on smoothly. Read more about the L’Oreal Magic Blur Cream HERE.
Bioderma Hydrabio Serum ( Deluxe Size, 40ml | Php 808) – “Having moisturized skin is key to looking fresh and flawless, so don’t forget to add this moisture-boosting serum in your skincare regimen! The Bioderma Hydrabio Serum hydrates your skin intensely, eases dry skin, discomfort, and leaves you with supple and radiant skin.”
THEFACESHOP CC Cushion Ultra Moist SPF50+ PA (15g | Php 895) – “This CC Cushion Ultra Moist promotes moisture coverage and a glowing finish. It coats skin with rich moisture from flower extracts of Calendula, Rosemary Leaf, and Lavender for water-full moisture without the heavy feel.”
INGLOT Freedom System Eyeshadow (2.7g | Php 425) – “Take your pick from INGLOT’s Freedom System Eyeshadow. Pearl 441, an opulent purple, which offers highly pigmented and long-lasting color that give a smooth, crease-resistant finish. Pearl has an opalescent effect and gives highlight. Complete with your INGLOT Freedom System Eyeshadow with the store coupon included!”
Pink Sugar Honey I’m Good Brow Gel (8g | Php 349) – “Keep your brows on fleek every day with Pink Sugar’s Honey I’m Good Brow Gel! It fills in, conditions, and gives your brows a natural finish. Your eyebrows will than you and your prep time will be fun and easy with this gel!”
FS Features & Shades Mascarade Mascara (10g | Php 500) – “Let your lashes stand out with FS Features & Shades Mascarade Mascara! Its rich formula superbly builds up your lashes without clumping and dragging them, so your eyes can make a bold statement anytime.”
Since I’m being honest, might as well admit that I’m not completely blown away by this month’s box. HOWEVER, I think it is not a major letdown, like most people say it is simply, because it was still able to give us much more than our money’s worth – and with a great deal of variation, too. For the subscription price of Php1,480, I got 6 full-sized products and 1 deluxe sample that is worth a total of Php3,293.
Still, not bad for a subscription box, eh? I still look forward to the next boxes. And if I were you, I would subscribe right about now.. we all know how generous the BDJ Team can be with their boxes during the Christmas season. Haha. 😉
