A few weeks back, I was invited to one of Shiseido’s exclusive blogger event held at Picasso Boutique in Makati. And believe me, it’s not one I was willing to miss so I decided to skip my afternoon class for that day and head to the venue after the noon break. I’m not encouraging this kind of behavior; that’s just me allowing myself to de-stress from all the hassle for graduation. Plus I’ve been missing a lot of events since December so I figured, at the very least, I owed it to myself. Oh boy, did I make the right decision in coming! I won’t lie to you guys.. the event was fun and totally informative but it was the Php10,000-worth shopping spree at the end that blew all loot bags out of the water. HAHA! Okay, that made it sound that I was only after the loot bag but can you blame me for getting so excited? 😀
During the event, Shiseido showcased their new Spring/Summer 2014 Collection specifically designed to withstand the summer heat. Ms. Carmel Villongco discussed the new and improved White Lucent Serum while their chief makeup artist who came all the way from Japan, Momoko Isibashi, demonstrated how to use the products to come up with the perfect makeup looks for the summer season.

To start the makeover, Momo-san first removed Donnarence’s makeup and prepped her skin with skincare products. All, of course, in the Shiseido way. You see, Shiseido has their own way of removing makeup from the products to be used up to the manner of using the cotton pads. Same goes for the application of skincare products to properly activate ingredients and ultimately maximizing the results. For the demonstration, Momo-san used the Shiseido Ibuki Skincare line. I swear these products are amazing! Read my review on the Shiseido Ibuki Skincare line HERE.
Let me just say that Donnarence really has amazing skin sans all the makeup. I mean, if I had that skin, I could probably go to the mall bare face! Ugh.. I should really focus more on skincare.
Because it’s summer, Momo-san created a look that is fit for the season – something light and colorful. She used the UV Protective Foundation duo for a lasting base, Eyeshadow Creams for a pop of color and the new blush trio for a healthy looking flush. The overall look was so fresh and with the new foundation, I know it’ll last the entire day in spite of all the sweating!
Now for the summer-ready looks by Shiseido:

Clockwise. Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector (P1,650.00) | Shiseido Suncare UV Protect Liquid Foundation (P1,750.00) | Shiseido Shimmering Eye Color (P1,150.00) | Shiseido Face Color Enhancing Trio (P1,950.00)
The Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Correctors are pen-type concealers that are very sheer and lightweight but still offer great coverage. Each shades come in 2: one for correcting and the other one for concealing, depends on what you need. They look very promising! I don’t know why I didn’t get one for myself during the event. :3

You know how event organizers give out loot bags to bloggers as a token of appreciation for attending? Well, Shiseido took it to a whole new level. Instead of giving us a random loot bag, they presented each of the blogger attendees with Php10,000-worth gift certificates! Yep, ten-freakin’ thousand pesos!! Not just that but they also had a small booth upstairs where we can use the GC – all I can think of that time was, instant shopping! I’m so glad I skipped school for this event. 🙂 To say that everyone was so excited is an understatement. Shiseido do know how to end a fun afternoon event with a bang! <3
There were a lot of good choices and choosing which products to take home was incredibly difficult. Just look at all those lovely new summer eyeshadow shades. *drools* It even put my mental math skills to test! HAHA. I wanted to try so much new shades but I decided against it when I saw the White Lucent Serum.
I said to myself; capitalize on good skin first before anything else. So yeah, I took these babies home – serum, to keep my skin looking good, and a duo of liquid and powder foundation to hide any minimal flaws. Hey, creating a good makeup base is more than half the job! 🙂
Shiseido UV Protective Compact Foundation Refill (Php1,900) & Case (Php998), Shiseido UV Protective Liquid Foundation (Php1,750), both in Medium Beige. And of course, the star of my haul, Shiseido White Lucent Serum (Php5,800)
