Men and women now have options to forego surgical procedures for face lifting and body contouring. Cosmetic science has provided us with safe, non-surgical choices that deliver quick, visible and natural looking results. This is wonderful news for people with today’s busy lifestyle. The non-surgical treatment of Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic require minimal to no recovery time allowing you to get back to your life with little interruption.
A quick background about the clinic: Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic is an advanced medical aesthetics center that offers a wide array of non-invasive cosmetic procedures. The treatments are designed to improve the appearance of the face and body for a more youthful glow. At SKIN HOUSE, the dermatologist and the medical staffs are dedicated to provide personalize service for your individual beautifying needs and concerns.
Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic currently have two branches: Their flagship branch is Quezon City that is well known for their Medical Grade Diode Laser Hair Removal and Jaw Reduction Treatment using Botox done by dermatologist Dra. Daet. Just a quick side note; Medical Grade Diode Laser Hair Removal is said to be very effective and yet comfortable for the patient. This treatment only takes about 6 to 8 sessions for permanent hair reduction, and for some, total hair removal. Whereas the Jaw Reduction Treatment using Botox makes the face more feminine and oval, the standard for beauty that most Asians are going for at the moment.
Their newer branch in Pasig just opened last June 5. Just as they opened their new branch, they also introduced top of the line services using FDA Approved machines known worldwide including the Pixel Perfect™ CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing with ITED Treatment, Venus Freeze and GentleMax Pro Laser Hair Removal. Two of which I had the privilege of trying out during my visit. 🙂
I got the visit their branch in Pasig a few months back. It is this quaint little spot in Pioneer Centre. Upon entering the clinic, I was greeted by their beautiful lobby. It was so dainty and refreshing in the eyes. The overall feel of the place was comfy and not intimidating at all. Even the personnel at the reception area were accommodating – very warm and welcoming. Notice the teal and white theme? Look at my blog layout. HAHA. No wonder I instantly fell love with their setup. <3
During my first visit, I got to talk to Ms. Joanne Yu, the owner of Skin House Beauty and Laser Clinic, to discuss the procedures and how they differ from what other clinics offer. Not only are the machines FDA Approved but they’re high-end as well. I believe the GentleMax Pro Laser Hair Removal was first introduced in London and Skin House has the first dibs in the Philippines for the said machine.
After getting briefed about the machines and procedures, I had a one-on-one consultation with their in-house dermatologist, Dra. Olalia. You know your skin is in safe hands when you get professional advice before any procedure. And oh, their staffs are registered nurses, too! The first treatment we did was the Pixel Perfect CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing with ITED Treatment but we’ll talk about that later. I want to build up the excitement so let’s start with the other treatment first. 😛
With the current weight loss frenzy, machines like Venus Freeze have become a crowd favorite. Top derm clinics use this on celebrities. You don’t believe me? Try Googling Belo Venus Freeze and you’ll see her using the same machine on Marian Rivera.. same machine except the service costs more there, or course. Why pay more for the exact same service if you can get it a lot cheaper at Skin House, IMHO. If I’m not mistaken, each Venus Freeze session costs only around Php 1,500 at Skin House.
Venus Freeze is basically a dual-acting machine wherein it starts off by breaking down the fat content before ultimately burning them down with the stabilized heat that reaches multiple tissue depths. This treatment is usually used to treat cellulites and for circumferential reduction but it can also be used to treat sagging skin, and to make it more youthful and supple.
I’ve tried Venus Freeze on my arms before but this is the first time I’ve had it done on my tummy. The hand-piece heats up quite fast but with constant motion, I can hardly feel the heat. The area, as expected, became red due to the application of heat but there was no discomfort at any point.  The therapist did my right side first and then she showed me the immediate result. You can see that my tummy on the right side is flatter and the wait is curvier than the left side – in an instant! I was very impressed.
I only had 2 sessions with the Venus Freeze but to my surprise, it actually made a huge difference. When we started my measurement was 80-83-86 (tummy-waist-hips, in cm) and after the second session I was down to 72-77-84. With no help from dietary supplements or exercise. Imagine what my size would be if I did continue the sessions regularly!
Next up, the Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser or as they call it, Pixel Perfect Skin Resurfacing. This state-of-the-art machine creates an ablative and thermal effect in only these channels without disturbing the surrounding tissue. By creating micro-injury sites (about 15-20 percent of the treatment area) it maximize stimulation of collagen for better overall skin texture and appearance as it starts the process of healing. It can help minimize fine lines, wrinkles, atrophic scar, atrophic stretch marks, flaccidity, or rinophyma. Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser transforms blotchy, and spotted skin into a radiant, more flawless skin.
Unlike other machines from China and Korea that have the Pixel or Fractional hand pieces attached to the machine, the machine that Skin House uses goes as deep as 10600 nm. This penetrates deeply and works effectively to treat acne scars and stretch marks but evidently, not deep enough to create its own marks.
The session started with the application of topical anesthesia. My skin was given 30-40 minutes head start with the anesthesia to ease in the procedure. I won’t lie; the procedure hurt! It was more painful after the actual treatment, too. Imagine hundreds of tiny needles puncturing your skin all at the same time – that’s how it felt. And it’s said that I have a high tolerance for pain so I suggest you prepare buckle up if you plan on having this done on your face. Although the cold compress afterwards helps. By the way, each session costs around Php4,000-7,000 depending on the area. 🙂
The photos are of my left cheek. After the treatment, the area had tiny white skin cells sticking out of the grid as if the needle that punctured the skin pulled it out to the surface. The following day, the tiny holes became red fractionated scabs like that of a wound. It was a bit embarrassing to go out with grid marks on my cheeks, to be honest. And it took 3-7 days before the scabs fall off on their own.
Whenever people ask me about the scabs and grid mark on my face, I try to explain it as simple and as quick as I can. I tell them that the machine “wounded” my skin to force it to regenerate and in the process, it removes old marks as well. People tend to react better to this explanation. HAHA.
I tried not to wear makeup during the first week to avoid touching and accidentally removing the scabs. Plus, I want my skin to breathe. Although in some cases, I did wear makeup to cover the grid up when I’m attending events. I’m happy to report that ordinary concealer can cover this up. 😀

Important Note: It is imperative that you only use mild facial cleanser and sun block with high SPF content during the scabbing stage. I made the mistake of using whitening soap for 3 days during the scabbing phase and the area became uneven and patchy! No worries though; like I said, the needles didn’t puncture deep enough to create its own mark so the patchy color did eventually fade. 🙂
Photo above is my right cheek. From here, you can really see the progression of the skin and how it heals. You can see how Pixel Fractional CO2 Laser was able to significantly lighten the huge pimple mark on the upper half portion and the small ones on the lower part. There are still tiny bumps but you can hardly see any discoloration on the cheek area. This can be covered up with very minimal makeup. There’s a dramatic improvement skin texture as well. My skin feels soft and supple.

You can’t honestly tell me that this new innovation in skin treatment isn’t impressive. I highly recommend this treatment.. as long as you remember to use sun block, you’ll be good. 🙂
