If you follow me on social media, you have probably noticed that I’ve been out and about the past few months. That’s me trying to spend more money on experience rather than on material things. There’s something really addicting about travelling, regardless if it’s local or abroad. Actually, I prefer exploring local destinations first. Our country is truly beautiful and you really have to see for yourself. <3

Here’s a tip when packing your makeup kit: Pack light, but smart. It’s always a good idea to keep deluxe samples of your favorite products to avoid the hassle of transferring them to smaller containers. Plus, they look cuter! I usually get my samples from BDJ Box or sometimes as GWP, like the ones from Etude House – they’re always generous with samples! I also use magnetic palettes to keep my makeup together but I find it too fragile for travelling.

SKINCARE. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR HG SKINCARE PRODUCTS. When you travel, your skin is exposed to the change in environment thus making it more prone to breakouts. Take it from me; I experienced the worst breakout right after my visit to China.

Biore has these amazing makeup remover wipes that can easily remove both heavy foundation (not like I’m going to wear that much during a trip) and water-proof eye makeup. I keep a bottle of Celeteque Hydration Mist within reach when I’m expecting a lot of walking during tour. It instantly hydrates my skin and refreshes me. I go with Etude House Super Collagen Serum in the morning because it’s lighter and easier for the skin to absorb. Don’t forget sunblock, too! I’m using Etude House Sunsprise with SPF50. And of course, Etude House I’m Blooming facial wash, Laneige Water Sleeping Mask and Laneige Lip Mask to recharge my skin at night.

MAKEUP. Let’s not forget the base, of course. I have the Revlon Photoready Primer and Stick Foundation because they are so easy to apply. The foundation offers medium to heavy coverage so when I like something sheerer; I have my Laneige BB Cushion. The latter looks more natural and I tend to use it when it’s particularly sunny because of its SPF50 content. Then to set everything, I have my ever favorite Maybelline White SuperFresh Powder.

My blush and contour changes depending what my current favorites are. For now, it’s Maybelline Dream Bounce for my blush and Pink Sugar Sweet Cheeks for my contour. I don’t like bulky products but the huge mirror in the Pink Sugar compact really comes in handy.

A girl gotta have her brows! Revlon Brow Fantasy is built for travelling: pencil on one side, and a gel on the other. Unless I’m going swimming, this has a really good staying power. Sticking with my favorite pen-type eyeliner, I recently discovered the Tony Moly Perfect Eyes Gel Liner that is 100% smudge- and water-proof. And well, Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo to match the latter’s staying power. Believe me, this won’t budge! This has been my go-to eye shadow for months now. It’s super easy to apply and it stays on for hoursss. Emphasis on the “s”.

You can never go wrong with neutrals. I can create simple to intense eye makeup with this tiny earth tone BYS Matte Eyeshadow Palette. The packaging itself maybe small but the individual pans are actually big, and they’re insanely pigmented. And oh, Shisiedo Perfecting Concealer for added coverage. This has and always be my HG concealer. It’s creamy and it blends like a dream. <3

Like any girl, my lipstick depends on my mood but I always bring at least two different shades just in case. Since my usual destination is the beach, I often pick bright colors to really set the mood. I’m currently loving L’Oreal Color Riche Lipsticks for their vibrant shades and creamy texture. Don’t forget the lashes! Shu Uemura Lash Curler and L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess for that va-va-voom lashes.

Nothing but the basics for the brushes: Powder brush from the Real Techniques Core Collection Set, angled blush brush from Chic Cosmetics and a few eyeshadow brushes from Sigma. For the concealer and whatnot, I use my fingers.

That’s about it, I guess. I’m not really a light packer, obviously. Haha. I am yet to learn the art of packing light but nevertheless, this kit is my life when I travel. This has everything I need to create a vast range of looks that would go with any outfit and with any Instagram-worthy background. Haha.

Share what’s in your travel kit! I’d love to see what else I can add in mine. And oh, follow me on Instagram (@celline08) for more travel photos. <3
